Some days I look at Vince and I wonder how on earth we ever got together and how on earth we’ve made it this far.
The other day, a “Box of Fun” arrived. For you poor, deprived non-knitting type folks, that would be a box of yarn from The Loopy Ewe. Vince couldn’t believe it . . another box of yarn. There was a package for him. This is what was in it.
Fundamentals of Classical Thermodynamics. Huh? Who, except for students who are required to do so, would read something like this? I’d rather have yarn any day!
All the email confirmations from Amazon come to my email. Last night, he ordered this book:
Journal to the Self? Really? The crazy thing is . . he will read both of these books and enjoy them. I would just die if I had to even look at the first one. The second one . . I might could read it but I don’t know.
Give me a love story or any kind of good fiction book, or a cookbook, or something like that . . give me a skein of yarn, a patch of dirt and a pack of seeds, a few chickens to watch . . don’t give me boring books!

LOL! They do say opposites attract – that’s pretty opposite in your and Vince’s case. I suspect there are a lot of ways you are alike, though, that balance this and shopping.

Judy, I laughed so hard I lost my breath on this one & I’m still chuckling as I type a comment. That is what is known as some “heavy” reading!,

I love to read, but I’d much rather have the box of fun from Loopy, than those books…

My husband is a retired engineer so I can relate to that first book. What drives me nuts is his need to explain everything in FULL detail. If you ask him the time, I swear he’ll tell you how the clock works! Love him in spite of it all.

I keep telling my kids that if they marry someone that is just the same as they are, one of them is redundant 😉
Dh is currently reading a VERY thick book on compost … and I’m reading a YA novel 😉 so I can relate on the difference in reading!
Thankfully, he lets me be creative and I let him figure out how to do some of the things my brain wants to do! Works great for us.

That first book would be great on those nights when the mind is busy and just does not want to fall asleep. You are very likely so physically tired in the summer that it does not happen then. However, it might in the winter months. The only problem would be as you drifted off to sleep and dropped the book. It would most likely wake you up again.
