Some of you will remember Susan who participated in the Christmas Town Sampler that Sheryl, Susan, Denise and I did a couple of years back. Susan fought a long, hard and brave battle against cancer for too many years! Her dear husband has written a fine tribute for Susan on her blog.
Susan always had a smile, even though I know she was often in pain and not feeling great. Sheryl and I were talking and I can’t even remember when I met her online but it’s been at least 10 or 12 years ago. The first time I met her in real life was when Sheryl, Denise, Susan and about 20 other quilting friends got together for a retreat in Arkansas probably 6 years ago. Then, when we found out we were moving to Texas, Susan informed me that I would be about 30 or 40 miles from where she lives.
We did get together several times, our husbands met and there was always something to talk and giggle about when we were together.
She put her all into whatever she was doing, she lived a good life, and will be missed by all who knew her . . including me! I’m glad I met her and sorry she left this world too soon!

I enjoyed reading her blog when your group did the Christmas Town quilt. I know she will be missed by many. What a beautiful, loving tribute from her husband and grandaughter.

I got to know Susan about the same time as you through the Sunshine group. Then on one of our see Texas trips we got to meet her and Ernie in El Paso for dinner one evening. Found we had more in common than we realized. They had also spent some time in Taiwan. We never did get to Burkett to see them but still kept in touch. . I thought the last post on her blog by Ernie was very good and can only imagine how hard that was for him to write. She will be missed

I saw the tribute yesterday. I will really miss her blog and all the stories about Burkett and the kitty rescue she and Ernie had. Cancer is such an evil disease.
