You know I’ve been doing lots of canning but this is a different type of canning!
So far, I’ve only canned peas and cherries but I have asparagus, cucumbers, potatoes, brussels sprouts, strawberries . . just about any fruit or vegetable you can think of . . I’ll be canning up a whole quilt full of jars!
There’s a story to go with this quilt but it’s a story that will have to wait a little while before it can be told. I will share pictures of the jars as I get more “canning” done. Hopefully I will stay on track and get this finished quickly but my track record in the sewing room has not been good lately.

I love it! I’ve had fruit and veggie fabrics saved up for a few years for the same idea. Now you have motivated me…can’t wait for the story!

I love your jars! And you didn’t have to heat up the kitchen and the house to do them, either.

Very nice. And maybe you can convince yourself it’s cooking, not sewing, so you’ll be motivated to continue 🙂 Can’t wait to hear the story behind this.

I did the bugs back in the day when the jar quilts first started. No idea what happened to it; maybe donated.

I really like the black background; it accentuates the freshness of the produce! I will be looking for the background story!

I made two twin-sized quilts of jars sitting on shelves. I had the pattern for a wall quilt of bugs in jars, but for a twin-sized quilt that is a lot of jars and bugs. So I decided to use prints of anything that could be put in jars. There were candy, fruit, pencils, paper clips, veggies, and critters. There were also a couple of open jars with critters loose on the shelves. My grandson’s really liked them. Looking forward to seeing more of your jars and hearing the story.

While we were traveling, I collected a huge variety of the vegetable and fruit fabrics, and then all kinds of candy fabrics. This is a good reminder to me to go find them, and get on with that project! Love both your jars.
