The Wollmeise arrived. Six skeins.
Wollmeise is such a sought after yarn. I’m not sure if it’s the hunt that makes it so sought after . . just knowing that it’s really hard to get makes me want to grab every skein that I can! I love the colors! The depth of color is amazing. All weights of the Wollmeise yarns are tightly spun and don’t pill or fuzz. There’s 574 yards per fingering weight skein, where most sock yarns are 375 to 425 yards.
The colors shown above, left to right:
- Babe (1) – I wanted two but was cart jacked before checking out! 🙂
- Maus Jung (2) – This is a great color and goes so well with so many Wollmeise colors.
- Raku (2) – I love this color so much and every time I see it, I grab a couple of skeins.
- Tant Gron, Tant Brun Och . . (1) – Purple, Green, Brown . . I can see it making some pretty cool socks.
And darn . . the USPS was too quick. This package was supposed to arrive tomorrow and it got here today! I’m NOT complaining about the post office being fast though! 🙂
It’s from The Loopy Ewe, and it’s Mrs. Crosby Hat Box in Hot Pimento. You all know that I love The Loopy Ewe for so many reasons but here’s another reason to love them: If you go to some (not all) other yarn shops, their colors on their websites just aren’t always accurate. I know that 100% of the time, what I see on TLE’s site is going to be exactly what I get. My photos may not always be true . . the Hot Pimento in my picture looks much brighter and pinker than it really is but those photos at TLE are always, always right!
Hot Pimento is to make Wanderling. There’s a KAL starting June 14, which I probably won’t get to “knit along” with them but I do plan to start this some day . . soon.

Love all of the yarn that you got! Gorgeous colors. I want to make Wanderling too but won’t be doing the June KAL. Maybe be can do our own later this year.

I scored a skein of Wollmeise too. I got Mauseschwanzchen. I now have four skeins of Wollmeise, and three of them are shades of purple…the fourth one is pink and black. I need other colors! 🙂

Ah ha! You managed to snag the Raku! It was gone by the time I saw the update but I’m still happy with what I got. Now to just finish up a few projects, cake some Wollmeise and cast-on a new project . . . . sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Enjoy your gorgeous new yarn Judy!

Cartjacked? Yikes! No wonder there’s never any Wollmeise when I look for it. Well, actually there was one color left but I did not care for it. Picky, I know.
