Sad news for scrappy quilters or for those who want to do scrappy . . I was hoping that by doing the challenge, I would make myself (1) get back into quilting and (2) try scrappy. No! Nothing. Last month, I messed with getting the link to work, sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. I have no idea what was wrong but I got plenty of emails telling me it wasn’t working. 🙂
So, I’m throwing in the towel. No more scrappy challenge blocks.

Not related to the post…but how about a final new chicken count? And pics…..if you have found your SD card.. Come on proud Mom, share pics of the kids! And the growing ones too! Thanks!

Ditto, I was thinking the same thing! By the way, what’s your ‘chicken capacity’ among all of the coops? I find it so interesting. Thanks for what you do.

That’s too bad, but there are several scrappy patterns, and they are nice ones. Actually, at my house, EVERY pattern is a scrappy one!
Donna says
I understand but I sure will miss these blocks. One of my favorites!

I’ll miss seeing all the great blocks, but don’t blame you. I don’t know how you have time to do half of what you do in a day!
ooooh and! we got 3 baby goats yesterday! Nigerian Pygmies and they are so cute 🙂

I’m a faithful follower! I have made 4 of your quilts – my daughter-in-law to be loves the mystery medallion from last year 🙂 & I’ve made 3 of your QAL’s. I’m currently working on your BOM this year & will miss your scrappy blocks. But as busy as you are I’m surprised you have any time for yourself. Thanks for everything. Sue 🙂

Thank you! Thank you! I was starting to cave under the pressure 🙂 I am *so* not a scrappy quilter…maybe it’s like “tall” – you either are or you aren’t. I’m not. But, I do love your patterns…please keep designing and quilting. I appreciate everything you do. – Ila

It’s OK, you likely have over-work-chicken-mama-itis. We appreaciate the Tell It To The Stars and all the rest of what you share with us. Some of us are not allowed to keep chickens.

And here I thought this.is the month I will get to sew some! Don’t blame you there is enough going on you don’t need that yet to complicate things! Thanks for everything. I am hoping this is the month I get to start really sewing again
I have too-taking my last 3 tops to my quilter in the morning.! Picking 4 up from her, 2 are at another quilter and gave 2 to Linus for them to quilt! Need to get busy!

I am sorry you are throwing in the towel! I loved your scrappy blocks. They were easy and fun! I will have to see how many blocks I have to put together a quilt too.

So sorry to hear that you won’t be doing the scrappy challenge any longer 🙁 but I do hope this doesn’t mean you are giving up on quilting! I agree that scrappy isn’t for everyone, but I just love it – and don’t get enough time to do it lol. Good luck with everything else you are doing 🙂

I give you credit for trying something new-to-you and encouraging others to join you. Whenever you get back to quilting, you might try piecing a few extra blocks for whatever projects you’re working on and making them scrappy. After a while, you’d have an interesting group of scrappy blocks to play with on the design wall.

I was beginning to wonder what happened to the scrappy blocks…. I hadn’t actually started them yet, but looked at them on Sunday again, trying to figure out how to squeeze them into my already-too-busy schedule!
Thank you for what you’ve already given us! I hope that your quilting “mojo” comes back soon – although I’m not sure you’ll have enough hours in your day to work them back into your schedule.
I’m enjoying seeing / hearing about all your other adventures – I’m sure that there’s never a dull moment at your house!

It’s ok Judy. If you’re not “feeling it,” you’re just not and that’s ok! I’m in that same boat with you . . . I want to want to sew, but I’m just not. I’m all about the knitting right now and add in gardening season and taking care of chickens and grandbabies being over for visits pretty often and I’m not not making time to sew. And that’s ok. It’ will come back again for both of us. And when it does, watch out everyone! LOL
Helen Poole says
Judy, it is ok not to do these blocks at this time. It is ok not to feel the urge to design sometimes. I am amazed at all you do in a day’s time and still have time for your fans like me. I follow your blog everyday to see what is next, I don’t always comment but I am there. I have learned so much from you by doing the quilt along and my tops are still waiting to be quilted as I do not want to do just anything on them. They are too beautiful to just scribble on them. . So I will continue to keep up with your posts, getting some laughs about your ‘animals’ and things that happen on your place. I bought me a Meyer Lemon tree this spring and it is loaded with little lemons and more blossoms, so see , I never knew about the Meyer Lemon until I found it on your blog.
oops sorry for being so long but just wanted you to know you are needed and respected in so many ways.
