We have been so blasted busy this weekend. It was hot . . 95+ both yesterday and today and that just drains all of us when we’re working outside.
The guys made great progress on the coop.
The metal roof is on.
The windows are in and the nesting boxes are built. They actually got quite a bit of the siding on but I’m too tired to go out and taken another picture. That’s all the construction guys are doing . . all we can afford. Vince and I will finish it up ourselves . . finish the siding, build the doors, lids for the nesting boxes and make the trim. Then we’ll get to paint.
Why didn’t we do this before it got so hot?
It will still be several weeks before it’s ready for chickens but at least it’s this far along.

Very nice! How’s the little turkey and where will they live?

Can’t wait for the first prep challenge to go live! One thing about you that makes this appealing, you don’t just talk, you DO!
Roberta says

Hugs!!!!

That’s going to be such a nice coop! Sorry about the hot weather — I really don’t like when it gets that hot. It’s just draining to be out doing yardwork.
Angie says
That is a really nice coop. My Nona called her’s the “chicken house”. Are you putting all the chickens in one place when this is finished? How are the eggs hatching out?
Patty says
That is one nice looking chicken coop! It is hard to wrap my head about believing someone is having hot weather. Today in northeast Ohio it was 37 degrees this morning!
Dana Pellerin says
wow those chickens will think they are uptown. Really nice coop and hopefully dog proof.
