For a while, they thought they might be back on Monday but they finished up yesterday afternoon. I was real pleased with their work. It was a husband/wife team. They were here for five days and never once did I hear a cross word spoken by either of them. They laughed and talked and seemed to truly enjoy their job and their days. They didn’t get in a hurry . . took frequent breaks and sat and visited with each other. The price they gave us was for the completed job so it didn’t matter to me how long they took. They showed up when they said they would .. I’m impressed!
We absolutely love our porch and spend many evenings out here. I scrubbed the furniture and it’s now back on the porch.
These doors were looking pretty bad but they look all spiffy now.
They were open for several hours. Thank goodness it was cool outside but not so thankful for all the flies we had to chase down last night.
Both ends of the house got the trim painted.
Even the poor old well house got a fresh coat of paint.
As soon as they get some time, we’re going to have them back out to paint a few rooms, ceilings and glaze my white cabinets. Soon, it won’t even look like the same place around here.

Judy love the new paint job.Looks like that did a terffic job. Hard to find people who do what they say when they say they are going to. SO keep those tow good people around.
There is one thing to think about. I was told this by an old timer. That the ceilings on porches were painted light blue all the time. It was a way to distract bugs, birds and the likes. They thought it was the sky so wouldn’t make problems. Just a thought if the brown seems to attract these kind of things later on you might try light blue.
Now what is the next project lined up around your abode? Not to move I hope?

Painting the ceiling blue definitely works. We’ve done it before but here, with all the Texas dirt, and with the style of this house, we didn’t think a blue ceiling would go with everything else. The dirt daubers build their “houses” on the white stone, on the green trim, inside the trim on our silver cars . . I’m not sure even the blue would stop them.
There had better not be any talk of moving. I don’t think there will be . . Vince is pretty happy here and since he’s getting closer to retirement, we wanted to end up somewhere we want to stay and I can’t imagine loving anywhere more than we love it here.

You’ve got to Love Texas now that you finally arrived. I’ve seen a sign on the back of some peoples cars that says this” I wasn’t born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could!” Sounds like you and Vince now. Welcome to the Lone Star State we’re glad you’re both here.
