Things are normally so calm and uneventful around here, that when there are things going on, it tends to make me a bit crazy (or should I say “crazier”?).
Last week Vince took off on Thursday and Friday so that meant multiple trips to Home Depot. The solar panel guys were here most of the day Thursday.
Monday the painters got started. We knew it would take them at least four days, probably five, to get the outside stuff painted (trim, porches, well house, doors). It’s a husband/wife team doing the painting and she comes inside to go to the restroom so I feel like I need to hang around inside the house in case she has to come in and Speck may not be so friendly. He can’t hear but if he sees them, he barks . . non-stop!
Yesterday the guy from the electric company came to do the final inspection and approve changing out the meter. Friday, the lumber company is delivering the remaining lumber for the new coop and to form up the foundation for the greenhouse. Saturday, the carpenters arrive to start their part of the new coop.
I’m ready for “normal”. I’m ready to spend my days alone without seeing anyone. Don’t get me wrong . . the painting needed to be done, the chicken coop needs to be built, the inspection had to take place in order to get the solar panels permanently hooked up. It seems like a whole lot happening at once . . especially when I’m so used to never seeing anyone around here.

I completely understand. I think we all have our “schedules” and when things cause our routines to get “out of whack” it can be very disconcerting.
I hope your “normal” comes back soon!

It reminds me of the saying “when it rains, it pours”. And, another saying “normal” is setting on the dryer, LOL. Y’all are always so busy with everything going, throwing several other things into the mix makes one feel (at least for me) like the dog chasing it’s tail – round and round and round.
We’re in the process of getting things ready for a big move (across country) and for me, I’m jumping from one thing to another to another SLOWLY getting it all done. Running out of time since the house goes on the market this weekend.

Judy, One of the reasons I so enjoy your blog so much is that your life is NEVER just normal. You make all yours days interesting. And the most obscure event can bring adventure and laughter. Please just go forward as “normal” so we can all continue to enjoy being part of your life with Vince and the farm.

UGH, I KNOW!! I had SO much to this place when I moved in and my handyman was here EVERY DAY!! I love him to pieces but you do crave your aloneness, your privacy. There are still things needing to be done/finished up but I had to take a break!

Totally understand! I am so ready to get back to “normal” but it’s not happening for another month! I am looking forward to the second half of 2014 in hopes that nothing else will have to be done! At least not until nest year!

And, if you’re like me, you feel the need to keep your bra on! Not that I imagine anyone’s looking, but still…
That reminds me: need to do some shopping (ugh).

p.s. Thanks, Dottie, for a new saying for me! (“Normal…”) 😀
