How can two level headed . . well . . sometimes level headed, almost normal people totally lose all their self control when the baby chicks are in town?
Our six baby chicks . . are now twelve baby chicks. I truly am NOT going back to Tractor Supply til Chick Days are over. It’s going to be so interesting to see what they all grow up to be. They’re all supposed to be bantams but I have my doubts about two of them. Most have feathers on their legs and feet but maybe 3 or 4 do not. None of them are Silkies.
I’m not even saying how many chickens we have now and no . . I still haven’t mentioned that eggs are being shipped to us!

The baby chicks are adding up, just like your stash of yarn and my stash of fabric!!!!!! They are so cute I can understand you bringing them home. I am no longer allowed to go to PetsMart on a weekend when they have the pet rescue groups trying to adopt out dogs – we now have 5! Did you get your goats?

I can’t go to Tractor Supply right now. I’d end up with turkeys or ducks I addition to more chickens and New Guinea keets!

I like that little pale gray one to the far right of the photo. It looks like the bigger chick having a very serious conversation with him (or her) 🙂

What about the goats? where are they? I thought you were getting two.

I went to Tractor Supply yesterday to check on getting some more but they didn’t what I wanted :-(. Too bad I don’t live near you…. I could swipe a few and you’d never miss them!

Yes inquiring minds want to know if you got your goats also !
Well guess you will have to build that 2nd and maybe a 3rd coop…LOL
Howdy says
You need to just build a chicken wire fence around your house, and shop and then let the chickens free range… LOL

There are too many hawks out there . . we’d end up with no chickens in a short time. Except for that, we would let them run loose now.

Sounds like you’ve moved from having a few chickens to being chicken ranchers! Or is that chicken wranglers? =)
Gwen Graham says
Can you do anything with chickens for an ag exemption? We are looking at wildlife exemption for our farm property.

Soon you’ll have to have to have Vince sell eggs to his friends at work. I remember when I was growing up, we had a lady who delivered fresh eggs to our house a couple times a week. When she had new layers, she would always bring a dozen pullet eggs for “the kids” so we could have our “very own eggs.” I wish we could still get those farm fresh eggs. I had a friend I got them from for a while, but then she got rid of her chickens and I haven’t located another supplier!!

Y’all are going to have to give away eggs like my dad did his okra and zucchini. He would just leave bags of it on their porches and leave. I never really knew if they wanted it or not or if Daddy was just trying to get rid of it. LOL.

My grandkuds would bed to go to the Orschlen’s when in town during “Chicky Days”…..they had all kinds! My granddaughter won a contest – Little Miss South Callaway when she was 5 talking about “Baby” getting ready to hatch her eggs. Oh my, what memories Chicky Dats brought to our lives! And their eggs were the Best ever! Now she is 9 and big brother is 11 and baseball and softball has replaced the chickens!
