Can you take two quilting posts in two days from me? 🙂
This quilt needs a name! Any suggestions? I’m thinking if it turns out pretty, I’m going to give it to a friend who loves all things patriotic. If it doesn’t turn out pretty . . and it may not since the fabric is a bit busy with probably too many colors, then I’ll make potholders or something out of the blocks . . or I’ll stick them in a grocery sack and add them to the other dozens of unfinished projects!
But for now, I’m having fun and I’m sewing and that’s worth something, right?
Eighteen blocks are on the design wall and 2 are actually sewn together.
They will not be fully sewn together for a while yet but . . I am having fun!

They look great. How about something like American Kaleidoscope for a name? I love the patterns the fabric is making in the block.

LOVE your blocks. One Block Wonders are so much fun to make… there is a surprise with every block. I am thinking of Sparklers when I look at these blocks. Have fun!!

These blocks are beautiful. I so want to make one of these quilts someday – how about “My Wheels are Spinning” or simply “Spinning Wheels” for a name?

Well, if you don’t like it “American Horror Story” haha. If you do like it, Patriotic Rainbows. I have not tried this method yet. Should put it in the bucket list for someday.

They look like fireworks on July 4th! So lovely.

Like the “motion” the blocks provide. A number of good suggestions above … American Beauty, American Diversity, Patriotic Kaleidoscope. My suggestion would be American Melting Pot since we’re a nation of many cultures and ethnic blends. It’s going to be a nice quilt and your friend should love it!
Mary Kunna says
How about American Sparkler? Love the way it’s turning out.
Sharon Downey says
I love them all. It reminds me of the lights on carnival rides at night. Pretty.
Amber says
How about American pinwheels. They look just like the pinwheels you blow on and they spin. My daughter had one that she loved last year for the 4th of July
Sharon Eshlaman says
I like Sharon Downey’s remark. Going with that comment, I like Carnival Lights.

Wow, Judy, those blocks are GREAT! I have a couple of projects started from the Stack & Whack book. . . . but I’m thinking I need to find my copies of the One Block Wonder books and try them also.
I think the blocks will be wonderful. . . .bright, cheery and just plain happy. That works for me! LOL

When I looked at the blocks the first thing I thought was Kaleidoscope.. I also like the Fireworks idea, so Catherine Wheel is the one I think they resemble. I looked at several YouTube videos after your post yesterday. Amazing the patterns you can achieve with these.
Susan says
Fun is always good. I like the colors – yes, it’s busy, but there’s so much motion going on and all the OBW I’ve seen are busy.
Linda says
It looks really cool.
Deb K says
You know to only sew half of it together and not the entire hexie, right? Just checking. They are pretty.
Nann says
I’d call it Spinners….maybe. OBW is on my bucket list. (I have a very large bucket.)
Alycia says
Oh look at you!! The mojo must be coming back?
