If there are any quilters still reading my blog, you’re probably wondering if I will ever quilt again. I don’t know! Right now, quilting just isn’t exciting me. Don’t worry about Boots. I can sit in the sewing room with him and knit most days . . not always, but most of the time.
My next project is Blue Sand Cardigan which I’m making for Nicole. I also have yarn to make one for me but figured I would make something for Nicole since I’ve made four sweaters in a row or myself.
Yesterday afternoon I got the swatch done and then started knitting last night. This one starts with a provisional cast on with waste yarn and that was pretty confusing and even after I thought I knew how to do it, my hands weren’t doing what my brain was thinking needed to be done. I could sense Vince wanting to say “Give up!” but I didn’t give up and I finally got it done.
The yarn is Amy Butler Belle Organic, which is a DK weight by Rowan. I’ve used it before to make a cowl and liked working with it. I have no idea how it will hold up as a sweater but that’s kinda how it is with all the yarns.
Hopefully I will have made some good progress to show you in the Friday “On the Needles” report.

Don’t worry Judy we’re still here. I think all of us go through a time when we put quilting on a back burner. I’ve only completed a baby quilt during the past year, but I have painted at 6 pieces of furniture, from tables to dressers to breakfronts with Annie Sloan chalk paint. I do miss hand quilting though, it is so relaxing. The urge will come back.
Even though I do not knit, its nice to hear the excitement in ones voice about the project they are working on, it inspires us to work on our own, no matter what that might be.

haha! I was wondering about the quilting, yes, but you’re having so much fun with the knitting! I’m glad that everything is turning out so well- I’ve done ALOT of knitting in the past- mostly for my children. I did do some stuff for me, but if it doesn’t fit right, it’s so disappointing.! keep knitting- you’ll come back to quilting! have fun! (but don’t forget Saturday’s back to the stars! 🙂

I too have slowed down on my quilting but I can play with yarn all day. 😉

I love this sweater. I literally just saw it for the 1st time last night in the Ravelry favorites. I’ll be waiting to see it on your needles.

Yes, I may hafta find more blogs to read since I ‘check out’ when the posts are about knitting (since I don’t knit and only crochet the baby hats). 🙂

Actually, I read your blog for your exploits and adventures!

Well, I love your knitting posts! Knitting is definitely where my passion is these days. I keep thinking I’ll get back to quilting, but so far it’s the yarn that’s singing the loudest. I’m just totally mesmerized by the ability to create actual fabric from “string and sticks.”

I”m really anxious to see how this cardigan works out – it’s on my favorites list too but I just can’t decide. Fortunately I have enough projects I don’t have to decide for a while.

Hi Judy! It’s nice to know that I’m not the only quilter who doesn’t quilt much from time to time. Nothing wrong with a bit of a yarn break!
Your Sleepy Hollow sweater is awesome! I won’t like and say I’ll knit one though–crochet is about all I can handle. 😉
