Last night I finished the second sleeve and was tempted to start the collar but it was late and this was the first time I had done a collar like this and didn’t want to mess up so I saved it til this morning. I raced through my morning chores so I could get back to knitting and got it finished just after lunch.
This is Sleepy Hollow by Laura Aylor. This was the third design/pattern by Laura that I’ve done and of the 4 sweaters I’ve knitted, 3 of those were Laura’s designs. Though I haven’t had a lot of sweater knitting experience, I think it’s safe to say that Laura’s patterns are very well written and easy to understand. Her patterns fit me perfectly! It’s very easy to determine what size to make and I’ve been 100% happy with her patterns.
The yarn is Dream in Color Classy. This is a good quality yarn and not terribly expensive and I love the fabric it creates. I like a tighter twisted yarn and a denser fabric and this yarn seems fairly tightly twisted. I used a size 6 (US) needle and the yarn knitted up to a dense fabric .. the way I like it.
A few of the tails are woven in but I was ready for the next project. Even though I wish the yarn was less stripey and more solid, I do love the tones.
From this angle, I think you can see the details on the front better. If you can knit and if you like cables and if you want to try a top down sweater, this could be a perfect project.
On to the next project!

Judy, I have read your blog for years. Love everything you blog about but every time you encouraged people to learn to knit I would say “I’ve been trying for 40 years.” Yesterday I went and bought size 8 knitting needles. This morning I watched a video, cast on and am FINALLY knitting a scarf. Thank you for encouraging others to try. I love your sweater.

Beautiful. I love it. Well, you have encouraged me to knit too. I just finished my first project today a cowl. I learned a lot. I know I have so much more to learn, but I am enjoying it. My goal is to learn to knit socks. Thanks for so much inspiration.

Really pretty, Judy! I’ve made it around the bend on my sock and am on the home stretch to the toe. You’ve motivated me. ;D
