That was fun! I just bought fabric that didn’t have to be included in my stash report! 🙂
Nicole got online and found two quilts that she wants to make. One will be completely scrappy so I can easily come up with plenty of fabric for that one. The other one is kind of controlled scrappy or organized scrappy and she wanted to make it predominantly gray and pink. Gray? There were two tiny (less than 1/4 yard) of gray fabrics in my stash.
I headed over to Fat Quarter Shop and chose some grays and one pink jumped into the cart too.
How fun will it be for her to get a box of fabric in the mail?

That Nicole is really moving ahead with her sewing, a quilt already, that’s great. Love to see new quilters and their excitement. You are a good MIL, you both win.

that’s almost like when I buy fabric for customer quilts – I get to pick it out, pet it, play with it, but I don’t have to PAY for it!!!!!

I love pink and grey together. Some people think I’m nuts! I even had a clerk tell me one time “they don’t go together” and I said “How could they not? Grey is a neutral”. She got a little defensive and told me she had been an art major and she should know! Ha!

I think a lot of teenagers from the fifties would be very surprised to find out pink and gray don’t go together!

That is wonderful! Not only did you get to shop, you got to shop for Nicole, AND she is going to make a quilt. She will be SO excited to receive the package from you/FQS. Talk about win/win/win/win! You are a wonderful mother in law.

I did a pink & gray quilt for granddaughter #1 in 2012. It came out wonderful. Now I am doing a citron & gray & white one for their #2 who we don’t know the gender of.. It is surprising how soft the gray is when done up..
Nice choice Nicole.
Nice going Judy.

Wonderful. I just bought seven yards of Marsha McCloskey’s Everything Blue fabrics. Marsha is in my guild, so she brought it to the meeting for me tonight. Not only is it pretty and traditional, but the hand is silky and soft. I’m going to enjoy sewing with this.

Lucky Nicole. Wish I could be your daughter-in-law too.

You know what? You gave me a fabulous idea of how to gift my sister-in-laws! I’ll buy some Christmas fabrics and have them sent to her just for the hailbut!

That will be fabulous fun, and Judy, I think she’s hooked!
