Yesterday I went into the sewing room to do a couple of things that needed to be done.
- Blocks made for Tell it to the Stars to test my instructions – will show you that tomorrow.
- Blocks made for February Scrappy Challenge – will show you that on Sunday.
It felt good to be sewing but the knitting called me away from the sewing machine before I got the January blocks sewn together for the scrappy challenge. On Sunday I’ll add a link box so you can share what you did with the scrappy challenge. I decided to stick with 6 blocks and make Addie a baby doll quilt. With sashing and borders, it will be a good size for a baby doll.
Boots has calmed down so much. He wants to be held for a while and then he’s happy to go sit in the window and watch what’s going on outside. It’s nice to be able to sew without him trying to catch the sewing machine needle or lay right where I’m trying to iron.

Congratulations on your first successful scrappy blocks! I know how hard it is to scrap quilt – I watch the struggles with the members of my quilt groups. Once you embrace scrap blocks and quilts, you’ll be able to clean out all those leftover pieces of fabric and have room for more of the ones you love!

can’t wait to see the Feb blocks for Tell it to the Stars. I’m doing the Quilt of Valor national sew-in tomorrow, so they will have to wait till Sunday!
