This weekend was full of accomplishments around here! After Saturday was spent running around and sightseeing, I wasn’t hopeful that my kitchen was going to get all finished but it did!
There were three electric plugs and one light switch that had to be taken out and new ones installed because the old ones didn’t fit with the tile. He got that done! He got the 5 remaining plugs screwed into the tile and the plate covers back on. He got the electric plug installed in the pantry and the light switch in there had to be replaced. He got the two undercabinet lights under the new cabinets and the one under the old cabinets installed. He got the paper towel holder installed under the new cabinets. I’m going to wait for the one in the kitchen because I want it where the coffee pot is now and we’re going to have to get the new drawer in the pantry installed (it isn’t here yet) to make sure Vince is happy with the coffee pot in there before installing the paper towel holder.
Last, Vince got the under cabinet radio/ipod dock back up in the kitchen. I keep that radio going when I’m home alone. Talk radio til about 3 and then the ipod til Vince gets home.
All we have left to do (and I’m using that word “we” very loosely . . I’m sitting back and watching while Vince does all the work!) is install the pull out shelf in the pantry when it arrives and install the four pull outs in the lower cabinets of the new section when they arrive. Once Vince is ok with the coffee pot in the pantry, he will install the paper towel holder in the kitchen and we’ll be done except for painting and I’m just not enthusiastic about that so it’s going to wait.

WOOHOO! Looks great! I love my undercab radio as well and, like you, keep it on a good part of the day to talk radio. My handyman just left after installing 5 more rev-a-shelf units. LOVE them!! Nothing will ever get lost in the dark recesses of my cabinets again. YAY!

Looking good! What did you use for your under cabinet lights? We went and bought our lights this afternoon. Bought the LED strip lights for under our cabinets. We are done buying now until we figure out what we need for drawer pulls etc.

It sounds like “as we say it” that your husband Vince is a “keeper”! That is– not all men are so speedy.

Looks great. You have somewhat inspired me with all your projects. My loft is great for quilting, but we are planning on adding a door to keep the puppies out–instead of the current baby gate, and adding a closet. Also, we figure if we sell the house, an extra bedroom sounds better than a “loft”.
