Yesterday the tile guy got another section of the backsplash done.
He was hoping to get it all done but the third section wasn’t finished and it was getting late so he’s back today to finish the third and final section and then he’ll grout the area that was put up yesterday and he’ll either come back and grout the section he did today or we’ll do it ourselves.
He worked til well after dark. Just as it was getting dark, I had gone out and the scene made me smile.
The tile guy’s 4×4 pickup is backed up to the back door. We’ve strung light out for him to see while cutting tile on his saw. The clothesline is in the picture. Our little house just kinda reminded me of a little house in the woods . . which is basically what it is. Who would have thought this little house would be so perfect for us? There were so many years when we thought that every time we sold a house, we needed a bigger or newer or fancier house. This is probably the smallest, least “ornamental” home we’ve ever owned and it’s our favorite. There’s hardly any part of our home or our land that doesn’t make me happy. Life is good!

looks awesome – cozy and warm.

it is small like our house but you do have the big work shop/studio so that makes it work out really well for you I think. If you didn’t have your extra building for the studio/storage/workshop you would most likely want a bigger house I bet!

Many of us could do with less it’s just..do we really WANT to?! LOL I’m STILL having a hard time adjusting to the size and number of closets/ storage areas in this house! It is NOT fun trying to cram all this into the much smaller space.

That makes me smile. Its not the impact, its not the decor, its not what people think. It is the deep fuzzy comfort.

Your home *is* lovely! I’m so glad you are happy there after all you went through to find it! You’re kitchen is looking great! So glad you had the granite redone so you are happy with the sink area! When we got our kitchen done (geeze, I guess it’s almost 10 years now – still seems like the “new” kitchen!”), I said “yes” to the faucet without realizing it had two handles (one each for hot and cold) instead of one. It was horrible! I was constantly burning my hands before I got the cold water turned on. I lived with it for years (because it was so expensive) before replacing it with a lever handle faucet. I will never make that mistake again and I always tell people to think about the little things like that when getting work done!
