Just after lunch today, the last stitches were made on my Brier Island sweater. The pattern should be available towards the end of the month and I’ll let you know when Laura Aylor releases it. The yarn is Miss Babs Heartland Worsted and the color is Cloak. The jury is still out on what I think of this yarn. So far, there are other worsted weight yarns that I like better.
I do love the pattern though and can see this being a sweater I wear often.
It has been soaked and is blocking now. I’ll try to get a picture wearing it this weekend.
So . . there you have it . . my first finish in 2014!

This will sound like a dumb question, but I am not a knitter. What is the purpose of blocking and do you have to do it every time you wash the sweater or does the blocking allow it to go to the shaped conformation after rewashing?
