I fell off the wagon . . took quite a tumble! Then I got an email from a certain friend who’s also supposed to be “oh so committed” to not buying yarn. It went something like this:
I lasted to day 9 🙂
She went on to blame The Loopy Ewe! I think she mentioned “a plot to derail our plans”.
I’ve brushed myself off, scraped off all the dust, and am back on the wagon and will continue my effort to use the stash. I’m thankful that I got more Wollmeise but I’m done . . til next time! 🙂

What a relief! I mean, when I saw “A Hard Fall” and you know, there is an inch of ice surrounding me, I thought, well. So, yay! It was yarn! Now, if you see something from ME saying a hard fall, it will have been something else. 😀
Deb K says
phew! Me, too. I thought you had taken a physical tumble. I’m so glad it was falling into a vat of yarn. That’s ok. You can recover from that.
Amy (Waunaknit) says
Darn it. I just saw that the update was listed and saw Wollmeise. I was just about to send you an email to BE STRONG! Sorry I wasn’t fast enough.

Judy – you scared me too! I thought you actually fell and got hurt! So glad…it’s just yarn. Enjoy the new purchases.
Sheri says
Well I knew what you meant right away, and I’m giving you a big thumbs up! (Or, wait – is that wrong?) 😉

Glad your body didn’t get a painful tumble, just the wallet. I still haven’t bought any new fabric (where, oh WHERE!!!! would I put it????) and I immediately delete any e-mails from sources but… perhaps a trip to Coldstone for some ice cream might help. (I’ve kept my covenant to not have IC more than every 2 weeks and it’s been a month.) It’s 21 degrees – a veritable heat wave – might be a good day for IC. (Is there a BAD day???)
carole says
Should have gone for ice cream this afternoon… it’s midnight and I’m buying fabric. But at $5/yd and $5 shipping the wallet will survive BUT…I still don’t have a place to put it !!!!
Sharon in Michigan says
I thought perhaps the cat tripped you up, but it was only yarn. You falling off makes me feel much better as I already fell off. Those wagons must be greased like crazy!
Sherry V. says
Oh my! I thought you were physically hurt. . . . I guess fiscally hurt is easier to handle (until Vince sees the bill??!!)
I’m sure that you will be better from now on. . . . .until the next time at least! LOL

Judy, I made it until January 3rd without buying fabric. Then an “accidental” buy. I planned two half-yard pieces of green to replenish my stash. Not so bad, but they turned out to be on sale and you had to buy a one-yard minimum cut. Turns out they were 50% off, though, so my wallet did fine. My cupboard space, not so much! My DD bought me a beautiful Madelinetosh sock for Christmas, so that’s helping me hold off! Back on the wagon. Keep up the good work!
Judy D in WA says
Don’t scare us like that! I thought you fell too. Glad there was soft, fluffy yarn to ease the pain. 🙂 Life is too short to be so hard on yourself. If you want the yarn, buy the dang yarn! 🙂

Judy, it’s like quitting smoking (which I did – cold turkey – was up to 3-4 packs a day! that was 4-5 years ago!) or not overeating (I lost more that 45 pounds – still have more to lose). It isn’t an end product in itself. It’s a continuing process. You slip, you fall, you pick yourself right back up and get on the wagon again! AND you keep on doing that until being on that blasted wagon seems more natural to you than being off of it does! It may take 1 time or a dozen or a hundred times. Doesn’t make any difference. It’s the process of doing that works, the process of getting right back on that wagon and doing your best that’s important.
Joyce says
I’ve already “fallen” three times since January 1…and we’re only 9 days into this month. In my defense, some of it is for the new loom I bought. The Loopy order today wasn’t, though…
Diana in RR,TX says
With everything going on here and not being on the computer much this past week I have been really good about buying anything!!!!! No time to knit or sew right now, but then buying new kitchen appliances well lets just say, I could be buying a lot of yarn and fabric for what they are costing!
pdudgeon says
What?? not blaming your fall on the Polar Vortex??? That’s my excuse for buying enough flannel for 3 quilts this past week. My reason was that i was ‘investing’ in being able to conserve energy in the future, should that darn Polar Vortex decide to visit us again. LOL, at least i’ve got a plan to use the fabric, and i’m keeping several quilt shop owners happy in the bargain.

Must be the day…it is the same day I fell off the healthy eating wagon….but got back on today!
