And a new year, along with a clean slate, begins!
For the yarn report, I am counting skeins as they are used .. not waiting for a project to be finished. Once the skeins are used, they’re out of the stash and I’ve been doing pretty good about finishing projects and not leaving too many knitting UFOs behind. For the running total in the left sidebar, I’m going to count yardage once a project is finished. Watch me stay confused about this all year long.
Used this week:
- 1 skein on La Vie Douce.
Added this week:
Nothing! Zero! Not one skein! Yes! I can do this! 51 more weeks to go! 🙂
Used this Week: 1 skeins
Used since 1/1/2014: 1 skeins
Added this week: 0 skeins
Added since 1/1/21014: 0 skeins
Net Used since 1/1/2014: 1 skein (and that number is NOT red!)

I’m doing pretty good at using up yarn although I am always buying more. My problem is what to do with all of the leftover partial skeins. It seems like a shame to throw them away, but I have no ideas.

Pat, I don’t know which type of yarns you’re referring to, but I made a pair of socks for myself using up about 6 different sock yarns once, and they were one of the prettiest pairs I made.
And I’ve seen some amazing scarves done, using multiple skeins, including multiple types of yarns. Just another thought. (obviously, I don’t throw away my partials. LOL!) Eve

Good for you, Judy. Part of me wants to start a blog so that I can report along with others on my Tell it to the Stars. On the other hand, I would feel compelled to report on my stash and I ordered a whole lot of yarn today. So, I’d be busted. It’s all your fault, Judy. Never were socks on my radar until I found your blog. Now it’s another thing that I have to find a place to hide it.

You can do it. You are on a roll. I’m still being tempted by the Eat Sleep Knit Yarnathon. Oh what to do. I know give up on everything and just knit.

Way to go, Judy! I think I’m going to try to keep track of skeins used/bought this year. I bought 17 skeins over Christmas Eve/Day (10 skeins for a sweater), and all but 2 of those came in last Saturday. The other 2 skeins were on backorder, so don’t know when they’ll arrive.

Nice Judy! Pattern looks great! Congrats on week 1 yarn free purchase!

What happens if you have to rip a project out after you’ve used a few skeins? I vote for counting it twice, since you’ll have knitted it twice. 🙂

You made me laugh out loud! “Watch me stay confused about this all year long.” Lady, you have got a way with the words!

Bravo!
