Scrappin’ Ain’t Easy!

I’ve made good progress on my projects this week.  First, yesterday I started the test knit for Laura Aylor on her new pattern that I think will be called Brier Island. It is another pullover and though you can’t tell much from the photo, I got a good bit of progress done yesterday. I’m still new enough at knitting sweaters that I confuse myself easily and make mistakes and have to backtrack or start over completely but I’m learning. The yarn for this one is Miss Babs Heartland Worsted and the color is Cloak.

The second one, which has been put on hold for a bit is La Vie Douce by Vera Sanon. I’m really liking knitting this one and think I will love wearing it so I want to get back to it soon.

Here’s a closeup of the lace along the raglan sleeves. Pretty, huh? The yarn for this one is Miss Babs  Yummy 3 Ply Sport. The color is Fraser.

I haven’t been brave enough to attempt a sweater yet. I am having so much fun knitting socks and fingerless mitts. Thank you for continuing to inspire us!

Every time “on the needles” comes up on my blogroll, I can’t help but giggle because immediately my kooky brain translates to “Judy’s on the nest”. Just thought you’d enjoy knowing that. LOL! 🙂

Both sweaters look great! I hope you don’t have pilling with Heartland on this one. I’m still waiting for my Yummy and Heartland to be shipped. (I think they must have had non-matching skeins so they’re dying up new stuff for me.)

The rate your going Judy you will be rockin those needles all through 2014 can’t wait to see what you get accomplished on the needles this year.

Due to your bad (or good) influence I managed to order more yarn from the Loopy Ewe. Just enough to make two more pair of socks. I am enjoying making them two at a time.

I really like the lace on the sleeve. You are making good progress on both sweaters. I hope that you are wildly successful in your yarn diet. I’m cheering for you, I know you can do it.

I love how much you are getting done. I’m trying to put in some time practicing continental style so I can knit more quickly. Today I learned to purl Norwegian style, and that’s going to speed things up too!
Question: When knitting socks, do you have a preference between Madelinetosh and Lorna’s Laces?–or others?

Lovely knitting. I’m not a quick knitter…pick ‘n throw is how I go lol but I’m okay with just dabbling in the knitting. For the longest time I was into dishcloths, but I’ve moved on for a bit now into hand stitching…redwork, cross-stitch, chicken scratch and just beginning quilting. I’ve decided to pick up my knitting needles again and take the plunge into sock knitting. If I finish one pair this year I will ecstatic. I’ve wanted to knit them for a long time, but kept giving up. Anyway, love your projects, beautiful colour!
