Today’s instructions include the pieced border block.
The blocks are 3″ finished or 3-1/2″ unfinished. You will need 39 of each block.
For Block 1:
Fabric 5: Cut 2 – 1-1/2″ strips
Fabric 3: Cut 4 – 1-1/2″ strips
Sew the Fabric 3 strips to both long sides of the Fabric 2 strips. Make 2 strip sets. Cut them into 39 – 1-1/2″ segments.
Fabric 3: Cut 3 – 3-1/2″ strips. Cut them into 78 – 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ rectangles. Sew those to the top and bottom of the previous segments to complete the blocks. (You may need one or two more rectangles . . look for scraps before cutting another strip.)
For Block 2:
For the center, use Fabric 4. For the remainder of the block, use Fabric 2. Cutting and sewing instructions are the same.

Judy on the latest clue you say to use fabric 1 for the first border, dark blue. But your photo shows the medium blue or fabric 2. I’m confused! I love this design, thanks for all your help.
