For those asking about the fruitcake recipe, it’s CJ’s Fruitcake and you can find it here.
I have never liked fruitcake before trying this recipe.
It is delicious. My dad has loved fruitcake forever, which I never understood . . how anyone could like it but he really loved this recipe. So, it’s safe to say that fruitcake lovers and fruitcake haters like it.

I like fruitcake too! This looks yummy and I think I might try it. Not sure I have brandy though, wonder if I could substitute something else, hmmm.

Thanks Judy.

Did you marinate your fruit long enough? MONTHS?! LOL
JudyL says
You can marinate it days or weeks. I started marinating mine yesterday and will probably bake the fruitcakes early next week. I don’t like mine as “brandified” as some do.

Thanks for sharing, Judy. I made this last year & fell in love. Made a bunch of mini-loaves a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure they’ll make it to Christmas. Every time I take them out to brush with additional brandy at least one loaf gets eaten!

I’ve made this for several years after seeing it on your blog. It is delicious! Make smaller loaves for family and co-workers. I don’t like the taste of liquor in my cakes so I melt any kind of jam/jelly/preserves and brush the tops of the loaves. Let set and it will make the loaves look shiny and gives them a little extra fruity sweetness. Love this recipe
