As 2013 comes to a close, it’s time to make plans for 2014 here at Patchwork Times.
I kinda feel like a miserable failure for 2013. About July, I totally ran out of steam in the knitting department. That’s about the time a little kitty came here to live but I can’t blame it on totally on him. He has calmed down a bit and it is easier to sew now but there’s still knitting and other things that take up my time. I’d like to say I’m going to do better in 2014 but I’m not making any promises . . I can try!
The plans for next year are:
- Knitting the Stash – Denise started this but the more the merrier. You can copy (there is no grab button) the photo we’re using anddo it along with us if you’d like.
- Quilting the Stash – Same thing . . it’s a photo from my stash. Use it or use your own if you want to play along with us.
- Tell it to the Stars Mystery – the details are on the right sidebar.
- Stash Reports – These will continue on Sunday, even with the sidebar button. I like reading details of what we’re all doing.
- Yarn Reports – These will continue on Monday. Again, I like seeing details.
- On the Needles Friday – This will continue. I LOVE seeing the projects.
- Design Wall Monday – This will continue. Again, I LOVE seeing those projects.
- Get it Done Challenge – This will continue. Details are on the left sidebar.
Did I miss anything?
In addition, there will be Quilt Alongs as I come up with designs that I think you might like.
I hope we all have a very busy and productive 2014!

I’d like to think I could get 4 things done every month, but if I’m truthful that probably won’t happen. So my challenge to myself is to work on my UFO’s and get one done each month. If I manage more that’s a bonus.

Judy, you do more in a day than any person I know of in my real as opposed to my cyber life. You are one amazing woman and you make me laugh, a lot. And you are so encouraging. The whole year sounds great.

I’m so happy you do the stash report–it’s really helped me cut down on my purchases this year! And I really love Design Wall Monday–I love to see what everyone’s working on. Thanks for all you do!

I enjoy your challenges to keep me motivated and inspired. I’m glad your programs will continue next year.

I’m on board for Quilting the Stash and Getting it Done. I’ve just started knitting again and I’m committed to not acquiring a yarn stash except for what’s left over after I finish a project. Is that really stash??

I wouldn’t say you were any kind of failure in 2013. You didn’t reach all your goals, but so what? You finished an average of a quilt a month. You made tops that will be finished. Look at that list of completed knitting projects! If you split your time between two things, you don’t do as many of each one, but together, that’s still a lot of completions! And don’t forget, you took in a new child! LOL

Thanks for taking the time and effort to coordinate all these events Judy! You are such an inspiration and encouragement to so many of us :*) Of course, you get me in a lot of trouble too LOL!!!

LOL – you really make me laugh, Judy! You didn’t get much done? You’re kidding me, right? Between the garden, quilting, sewing, knitting, enjoying Boots (and Vince) and visiting that gorgeous grand baby, you accomplish a lot of stuff. I should be half as productive!

I am planning on joining in again this coming year. Not sure how much will get done the first couple of months with the remodel-may need to be out of the house more because of noise! Ordered my fabric from Vicki for the 2014 quilt Tell it to the Stars. Her fabric is so nice to work with. So right off the bat my stash report will be an increase! But doing the weekly report did make me watch those purchases. And while you didn’t meet your goal of used you sure didn’t buy much fabric! It is fun to see what everyone is working on be it quilting of knitting. And certainly enjoy the chatter! Thanks for everything!

Judy, you are surely joking when you say you didn’t accomplish a lot in 2013. You do more in one month than most in 6 months. I will be joining along with your Stash sewing, On the Needles, Design Wall and Get it Done and who knows what else. You are my inspiration and mentor on so many fronts. I’m so glad you took in Boots and that he has become a part of your family. I lost one of mine this year and they are just like children. Looking forward to 2014 with you and your crew.
