Off the Needles:
- Dad’s Socks! He received them yesterday, he called and I think he likes them! By the way, Addie’s Mittens arrived yesterday too and Nicole told me they fit perfectly. Nicole said the ones without the thumb were much easier to get on her so I’ll make her more of those.
- Into the Whirled socks that I had started during our pooling yarn challenge. I love these socks. As much as I need Christmas gifts, I was tempted to use these as a gift but I think I’m keeping them for me.
On the Needles: More or less . . I started these fingerless mitts last night. The pattern is Susie Roger’s Fingerless Mitts and it’s free on Ravelry. This is a pattern I’ve wanted to make for several years and just never did. I’ve never worn fingerless mitts and I had never made any but I think these are going to be something I will love wearing. They seem so much more functional than gloves.
The thumb isn’t finished but these are so easy to make. The pattern calls for DK weight yarn, and I had none of that but I had this skein of Madelinetosh Sport so I used a size smaller needle (pattern calls for US 5 so I used US 4). I made the size Medium and think if using DK yarn, I will definitely make size Small on future mitts.
These are going to be for a gift . . unless I decide to keep them. 🙂

Your fingerless mitts are lovely! I have wanted to make some, too, and will definitely look at the pattern you are using. Love your socks, too!

At a quilting event I went to last week a few of the girls had some of those fingerless mitts and I loved them. We were in an old building and they said there hands are always cold so they brought them. Toasty hands just kept on sewing all day.

That mitt pattern is on my list, too; mitts are so fun to knit, aren’t they? My GS loved the mittens from your pattern; thanks for linking it! Nice socks!
