Yesterday Vince put the little shed together for me.
We started out with it by the garden fence but decided to move it behind the chicken coop to help block the sun. The Texas sun is brutal and the plastic wouldn’t last nearly as long if it were sitting out in the sun with no protection.
The chickens have to go up that little ramp to get into the coop and . . being chickens, they were so scared of the little shed and didn’t want to go into the coop. They are so goofy!
We have four or five sets of shelves that Vince got half price at Home Depot a while back. These were perfect for in here because there are supposed to be five shelves but the legs are all separate (as opposed to the long legs that the shelves slide down on) so we were able to set it up with three shelves and we can use the other two shelves on the other sets.
Vince gets so aggravated with me because I leave trash in the garden. Most of the time I go back and pick it up but there’s almost always a Dr. Pepper can or a sports drink bottle, empty seed packets . . always something I’ve left behind. He put a big plastic trash can out there but I have to grab hold of the lid and kinda squeeze it to open it and I’m so afraid of black widow spiders being in those handles that I just about won’t use that big can. I put a tall kitchen can in my little shed and I can use that and not have to fear another black widow bite.
I was surprised at how much stuff I was able to put in there and there’s still room for more stuff. I’m not sure how water proof it’s going to be so anything that can’t get wet is in those plastic containers. I put some styrofoam egg cartons in there because sometimes I’m not planning to gather eggs and end up with more than I can carry in so I can just grab one of those cartons if needed.
I’m so happy to have my little shed!

And you said yours wouldn’t look as neat as the store picture! Wrong! 😀
What are those round yellow things? I just can’t figure them out.

What a good buy. I never find deals like that, but then again, hate shopping. Been doing to much of it on line (yarn) lately.

We had one of those little sheds back when we had an RV camped on a seasonal site. It was exactly what we needed for the stuff we didn’t want to store in the trailer, and it weathered pretty well as I recall. The price you got it for was great too! We paid a couple hundred dollars 10 years ago, but even at that, it was worth the money. We sold it when we sold the trailer.

It looks so practical and organized!

Judy, That little shed was such a buy, and location seems ideal. Hope the chickens figure it out soon.
I was just reading something this morning regarding WD40 and insects (spiders, wasps and bees, and lubricating zippers, etc.!) Here it is: http://www.rd.com/slideshows/13-amazing-uses-for-wd-40/?v=print.
I’d try the spray around the waste can, etc. Anything to keep the spiders and wasps away. (I have wasps building under the eaves near the doorways and plan to spray next spring.) Bev

We have one of that shed’s siblings, a large bin to hold lawn furniture cushions. Also related are two garden hose reel boxes with containers for holding things like small tools, etc (My husband uses these to store small bags of bone meal and the like). Have had them all for nearly 10 years now and they are not only weathering well (we have winter as well as hot summers here in Ohio) but also is totally waterproof. I like that style of cabinet so well, I have six of the related garage storage cupboards as my craft room cupboards.
Vince made a darned good buy!

one word of warning. I had a smaller one for the cushions and what not. Galen took it over for the jars of bird seed. rats and or squirrels chewed thru the lid!
