The nice folks at Alpaca with a Twist are hosting a Knit Along beginning November 1. You know what this means, don’t you! More yarn! But, only 3 skeins. Their pattern, Lovely in Lace, is being used.
Looks like the KAL runs through January. I think this sweater will be perfect for central Texas winters. I love 3/4 length sleeves . . when wearing regular love sleeves I always have them pushed up or rolled up. I am so much more comfortable in a big over sized T-shirt but sometimes, I just can’t wear an over sized T-shirt with holes and stains! And, there are no buttons, buttonholes or button band. If (and that’s a very big IF) I actually make this sweater, it will be my first sweater.
The yarn I chose is Alpaca With a Twist’s Baby Alpaca in Acrtic Blue. My first choices were Polly Parrot or Alfalfa but it seems like everything I make or order is green so .. Arctic Blue it will be.
Hmmm . . didn’t I just say I needed to work on Christmas gifts? OK . . this can be a gift for me! 🙂
Anyone else want to join in the KAL with the Alpaca with a Twist folks?

My first knitting experience and only successful one was making a child’s cable knit sweater. It had a hood on the pattern but I changed that to a small collar. I turned out beautiful and I won I think third place at the Nebraska state fair. That was a long time back and I have not done much knitting since. It frustrates me. Would love to make socks but…..

Judy this sweater is you. As soon as I saw it I thought it looked liked something you would look great in. I hope you make it and model the sweater.

Really? A whole sweater from three skeins of yarn. I didn’t know that is even possible. Do you care to share where you ordered your yarn? (I’m thinking lavender, but that could change.)

Link to the yarn I ordered is in the blog post.

I would love to but I am not sure if I could get the yarn in the UK. I had a look on Ravelry and will try to find a yarn to substitute. I suppose that means I can’t do the KAL though. Such a shame

Beautiful sweater Judy. I’ve made several over the years, but they all took more than 3 skeins of yarn. I’ll have to look into this one. Ravelry? Since green is my fave color, I already know it will be green. Ah, shucks. Now you’ve done it. I wasn’t going to buy more yarn until I used the last inch of my stash and yet…..
