You thought I was going to blame Denise, but I’m not. I’ve been blaming Boots for not wanting to sew. He actually makes it fun being in the sewing room. He’s calming down just a little. I think we’ve spoiled him a bit in that he wants to be held. It doesn’t matter if I’m typing, ironing, sewing, cutting . . he wants me holding him. He loves being snuggled and I hope that never changes but I seriously can’t hold him non-stop. The other day I thought maybe he had calmed down enough that I could sit and knit with him around . . not quite yet. Everything that moved . . yarn, fingers, pattern, row clicker . . everything got attacked.
This morning, the thought occurred to me . . maybe I’m just tired of that yellow and blue Road to Brenham quilt top! Maybe I need something easy and quick so I began playing in EQ and came up with this. The name is going to be Blame Game. I love how there’s a bit of transparency in the four patches between the bigger blocks.
A few color changes and I came up with this.
Christmas is coming so . . maybe this.
Road to Brenham is getting folded, along with the extra fabric, and stuck in a project bag to be finished later.
I think I’ll go dig in the fabric closet and see what I can come up with. As drawn, the finished top will measure about 65″ x 80″. The most required of any fabric is 2-3/4 yards s it should be easy to come up with something from the stash.

Love it, love it! Will this be a QAL?

Perhaps you should get (or make) one of those trendy snuggie things that new mothers wrap their babies in to keep them close to their bodies. Then Boots would be happy snuggled up to you and your hands would be free to do things.

Love Love LOVE the colours of Blame Game #2. My number one favourite colour combo. Looking forward to seeing what colours you choose for this quilt. I’m currently making ‘scrappy quilts’ trying to use up my ‘bits’ so I can buy more fabric 😀

I love this pattern!

Another winning design. I, like Teresa, immediately thought of a Snugli for Boots.

Wow – I love it! It looks complicated….? You know, like one that would take me forever to put together. Very nice!
🙂
JudyL says
Oh, Brandy . . not complicated at all!

Transparency — yes that’s how ever one sees your blaming me — a transparent attempt to put blame on an innocent person — they know you would order yarn with or without my aiding and abetting.
I do really like the quilt design but can’t believe there’s no purple and green version up there. 🙂

I was thinking this might be for Addie and since Nicole doesn’t like purple, I’m leaving the purple off and you can see this would be a good fabric to add purple because it is in that striped fabric. Transparency . . I think I learned the “real” meaning from the politicians so, your definition seems quite incorrect to me! 🙂

Love the quilt esp. The red one. It’s a keeper.

I don’t usually like Christmasy quilts because I want something I can use all year but this one really caught my eye. Love it!

As usual, you did it again. VERY nice! I love it too.

AHA! i just KNEW that i would find a great quilt to make from the fabric that (innocently *wink*wink*) just landed on my doorstep yesterday. thanks for another great quilt pattern Judy! I’m lovin’ it!

Even though I am not crazy about blue, I do love the first version!
I am trying my dang-est to get back to sewing.
We now have 2 kittens, so I completely understand trying to knit/crochet with them around.

I really love the color options Judy. I wonder what the second one would look like if the colors were changed to purple, lime green, and red. (this has been a color combination I keep seeing and one I’m really starting to love) As much as I love this color combo – I REALLY like the top color option you’ve posted with that blue and that shade of green. That would be a stunning quilt. (I REALLY need to learn to use my EQ7!)

You want them to calm down, but it is kind of sad when they aren’t as playfull!

Nice pattern!

Bwha ha ha! You and Denise sure gave me a good laugh this morning! I love the quilt, Judy….and I hope it will be another QAL soon. Not only do I love the transparency component but I also love how the light squares seem to dance…ok-float…lol….around the next to last border. Another great one! I may have to re-think getting EQ….looks like it may be scads of fun.
