The other day I was telling Nicole that she should write a blog. I tend to think that because I love doing it, everyone should. She said she doesn’t have anything to write about! If every day was like the last few days, she would have enough going on to write a blog.
We were at their new place working all day yesterday. You know how you look at a place and it looks ok but after you get a closer look, it’s not so ok. Once we got to the new place and started cleaning, it was pretty bad. One of Nicole’s friends went with us and the three of us worked the entire day cleaning and it’s decent now.
This is what it looks like when the windows have already been cleaned but there’s excitement across the street and nosy neighbors (us) are trying to look out to see what’s going on without being obvious.
Chad was home for lunch and he was looking at all the cleaning we’d been doing when he noticed a police car across the street, then an ambulance, then another police car. After a few minutes, there were probably 6 or 7 police cars over there. Chad, who never seems to be thrilled with the housing that Nicole and I choose was saying . . “See what kind of of neighborhood you’re making me move into!” All three places they’ve lived, Nicole and I have chosen them without Chad ever seeing them. My poor son! So, the police cars were all over the place and Chad was parked facing the wrong direction . . he kept said “SI knew I shouldn’t have listened to y’all!” He was just giving us a hard time.
I went out to my car to get something and one of the policemen was walking to his car so I said to him “I don’t expect details but please tell me this is a safe neighborhood!” He said “Oh, yes . . it’s a real safe neighborhood but the elderly lady who lives across the street just died in the apartment!”
The place was busy for several hours with folks coming and going. I’m sorry for the lady’s family. There seems to be an elderly man living there too and I know he’ll miss her. There were other folks that got there quickly so I’m assuming they have family close by. Yep . . we figured it all out just from peeking out the window!
I also asked the policeman about what we saw yesterday and they were trying to arrest a guy who wouldn’t come out. Someone told the police that the guy had a lot of guns and that’s why there were so many policemen there but the guy came out finally and he didn’t actually have a whole lot of guns.
There was even more excitement yesterday afternoon but that will be in the next blog post!

Holy Moly, I’d be running from window to window. Of course I’m a news junkie anyway. Would this be Oklahoma city?
Enjoy your family time!!

Oh, how I wish it was OKC but it’s not . . it’s even about 45 minutes farther for me now but that’s still not a trip I ever mind taking.
