I hope that I never get to a point in my life where I’m not thrilled with the beauties that God has created.
The cloud was in the perfect position to barely shadow the moon.
Maybe I’ve never paid enough attention but here, it seems the clouds move so quickly, and the sun and moon rising and setting change so quickly, I could stand out there and take pictures for hours.
What a gorgeous moon! It will be so bright out tonight. I loved the nights in Missouri when we had lots of snow and a full moon. The moonlight reflected off the snow and it was almost as bright as day outside.
One thing I can count on . . we won’t have many nights here when the ground is covered in snow . . will we?

Beautiful pictures, quite powerful.

Amen! Beautiful photos of a beautiful moon. It’s neat to look up there and think about all my family and friends looking up at the same moon. Somehow, it makes the long distances separating us seem a little bit shorter.
JudyL says
I think about that very same thing. No matter how far away we are, we’re still looking at the same moon.

You may get some snow, but probably not like in Missouri. The photos are beautiful. The lights here are too bright to really see the moon that well. Country living is so much better.
JudyL says
Yes, we could get some but there’s never enough to cover the ground enough to cause the moonlight to reflect. What we get, and very rarely, are just a few flakes that melt as soon as they hit the ground.
Sherrill says
No we won’t, thank heavens!! I don’t like snow, ice or cold!! But yes, the moon WAS so pretty tonight!
Susan says
I think it highly unlikely you will ever get to that point! I seriously doubt you’re going to see a lot of snow. 10 years in Odessa, and I saw maybe two snows, and neither lasted more than a day!
JudyL says
You’re right and I guess it’s a good thing. As much as I’d love to see clean, fresh, sparkling white snow, I love picking vegetables all year and it’s not likely those two things can go hand in hand.
Katie says
You are more than welcome to visit here in Minne-snow-ta, lol! Any day now we could get our first flakes.
JudyL says
Don’t tempt me. I could even wear some of my hand knit wool favorites that will probably never see the light of day here, and . . I could get lobster! I’m packing my suitcase! 🙂
Peggy in CA says
My husband who spent lots of years flying at night always says, when I say, “You’ve got to see this moon.”, “I’ve seen the moon thousands of times.” will come and look and agree it’s an amazing sight. Happened tonight. He agreed. The moon looks amazing!
Mel Meister says
I’ve always loved the moon, too.
Julie in Tucson, AZ says
When my DS was stationed in Italy while in the Navy, he had a bout of homesickness. I reminded him that we both look at the same moon every night. It seemed to help him at the time, and was probably one of the longest umbilical cords. Now, many years later he reminds me of that when we miss being together!
Debbie B says
Beautiful pics, Judy! Thanks for sharing!
Sharon in Michigan says
I also noticed the moon last night here in Michigan as it was coming up – it was spectacular!
Pam says
I was enjoying that gorgeous moon in SC. Even though we are miles apart we were sharing the same moon.
Judy S says
Nice photos, Judy! We saw it here also, and for us it’s a real treat as we often have night time clouds. Moons like this remind me that fall is just around the corner.
Linda Steller says
I love to sit out at night, especially when the moon is full, and watch the sky and the weather change too. This really is an amazing planet. Nature has so much beauty.
