Yesterday I came across this pattern and love it! I’ve told myself . . no more yarn! So, for now, the pattern is in my “Favorites” and may end up in my Queue. It’s the Agata Cardigan. It’s a free pattern so there’s no reason I shouldn’t grab it, huh?
The model is made using Freia Ombre Sport and Freia Handpaints Flux Sport. The pattern says it’s good for a first sweater project. Here in central Texas, where we so rarely have really cold temps, I could see this being so useful. It looks like it’s a bit of a jacket/sweater. I could wear it with jeans and a solid shirt or knit top and it would go with just about everything.
I’m not ordering yarn today but I am going to think about it!

Looks like the perfect West Texas “winter” jacket to me!! Love it!

my money says the yarn is in the shopping cart by nightfall……then, tomorrow you will click on buy. it is GORGEOUS!! and, i think i just may have to go have a looksie at the yarn myself…..but the pattern is DEFINITELY getting added today…..

It’s beautiful, my guess that it won’t be long before you buy the yarn for it. Have you checked your stash? Do you already have something you could use? lol
JudyL says
I don’t have large amounts of anything in my stash and certainly don’t have ombre type yarn in sport weight. Besides . . why check the stash when there’s yarn out there I don’t have? 🙂

Love the pattern! I like the rolled effect at the neckline. It’s a perfect Texas Sweater (or Calif. ) sweater pattern. I bet you have some of this yarn in your stash. If not—buy some! So pretty!

The neckline is great but those long ribbed cuffs are awesome!!! When do you get your delivery?? I know you are ordering it! After all, ” Here in central Texas, where we so rarely have really cold temps, I could see this being so useful. It looks like it’s a bit of a jacket/sweater. I could wear it with jeans and a solid shirt or knit top and it would go with just about everything.”. That quote rationalizes the whole thing!!!!!!! LOL!
JudyL says
It’s coming from CA so I’m hoping to have it by late next week! 🙂

You have been watching over my shoulder again as I was adding patterns to my library in Ravelry!! ROFLOL I like it because : Here in Wisconsin, where we so often have really cold temps, I could see this being so useful. It looks like it’s a bit of a jacket/sweater. I could wear it with work pants and a solid shirt or knit top and it would go with just about everything.
See — it works no matter where you live. VBG

Yes! I could some day move north or you could some day move south and we could still use it! Once again, we choose the same things and once again, we scare me!

Love it! To the point that I saved in my favorites as well. What is now driving me crazy is that I ALMOST have enough yarn on hand. But ALMOST is not ENOUGH! Drat it anyway!

Love the pattern. It gets cold here too in the winter. This looks like a nice comfy sweater to wrap up in. I had to download it. Now to pick out the yarn.

I’m in love with this sweater. I have had it in my library and keep thinking about it, going back to check it out. I’m thinking it may be just perfect for an Arizona winter! I’m ordering the yarn today – DH will have a fit – I just got a “Box of Fun” yesterday for Loopy Challenge 4!!
JudyL says
Same here! Box of Fun came yesterday. I’ve kinda been beating myself up about the cost of that yarn but I think the yarn makes the sweater so beautiful.

I am getting the urge to make myself a sweater. I really have only made one successful sweater for myself (February Lady) and really don’t have the patience to do this….but AGATA caught my eye too…..except for the cost. I hate to pay that much for something I may never finish…….
