Up until a couple of months ago, I had never heard of Julie’s Little Cotton Rabbits . . til one evening I was reading Sheri’s blog and . . they they were . . ready to hop right into my brain and never leave. This fiddly small stuff that requires counting and shaping and stuffing is not something I would ever have imagined myself wanting to do.
The photos are used with permission from Julie @ Little Cotton Rabbits.
But, since there’s a certain little girl in MO that I never stop thinking about, I believe she needs some of these critters. Not now . . she’s still at the stage where she puts everything in her mouth . . but in a couple of years, I could see her enjoying having a rabbit or two and maybe a fox, and some clothes for them. If I get started now, I should have a nice little package for her by the time she’s ready for them.
As a young girl, I loved playing with paper dolls .. dressing and changing their clothes. As an older girl, I loved playing with Barbie .. all the clothes and shoes. I can just see Addie playing with these rabbits. Of course, they’ll need lots of dresses for changing their clothes.
And now there’s a fox! There’s a girl fox and a boy fox, as well as a girl rabbit and a boy rabbit. Are these the cutest things ever? The patterns can be purchased through Ravelry. I’m pretty sure I’m going to need at least the boy rabbit pattern too. I’m also pretty sure that if I finish my current knitting project before digging through my yarn to try to find something that would work for these critters, I will surprise myself.
Maybe our next “knit along” will include rabbits and foxes!

Now, those look like fun! I might join a knit-along if you hosted one in the new year!

I used to crochet (never really got into knitting) all kinds of stuffed animals and sell them at craft fairs in the fall. My bestsellers were fairly large ones (kids pillow size for watching TV) made with rug yarn and grannie squares. They were adorable and lots of fun to make. Have fun!

Julie has hedgehogs too. I won the pattern on her blog a few years ago. They are just adorable…and one of these days I’ll make one!

I have long admired Julies little rabbits and was really pleased when she decided to release the patterns. I have made a couple of the girl rabbits ( they are on my blog ). A bit fiddly but very enjoyable – the second was better and I’m now on number 3. Have fun x

I bet that the leftover yarns from other projects would be wonderful to use for the clothing! The animals are adorable!

Oh she will love them when she gets a bit older. It was so fun making things for the grandkids. Of course they are all grown up and on their own now, but they still kind of look around when they are here. grin Like maybe grandma will give me that afghan if I hint. ha. They know it usually works too.
