Chad and Nicole found out today that they are being transferred . . already. The news didn’t come as a surprise since it’s been in the works or a month or so. When Chad got the job that would require frequent moves, I wondered how Nicole would handle it. Her family never moved around and her parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle live in the same area where they all grew up. Nicole’s mom went to college there and met Nicole’s dad and stayed so even though she didn’t actually grow up there, she’s like a home town girl after all these years. Chad, on the other hand, would probably be quite content living in a hotel and being in a new city every week or two.
They have the cutest little house with a very nice yard. I’m sure this is just one of very many moves they will be making. They actually moved into their little house on November 1 and expected to be there a couple of years . . but they made it 10 months.
Chad had a choice between several locations and I think he’s pretty happy with where he’s going. The bad news is . . it isn’t closer to me. The good news is . . there are no scary bridges between here and there . . I think. I don’t think I’ve ever traveled the route I will take to get there.
Nicole seems ok with the decision. I don’t think she will be moving right away .. the new store is close enough that Chad can commute for a while, til they find something that works for them. They still have just one vehicle so when Chad’s gone, Nicole is without a car. It’s tough being young folks in this economy . . but I’m proud of them for not going into debt to get a second car.
Wish them luck!
