Whew . . the third and last project for Camp Loopy was announced yesterday. I had a feeling it was going to happen yesterday and we were gone almost the entire day and it’s so hard to choose a project and then yarn just by using the cell phone. At one point during the day, I did check Sheri’s blog and saw that the only requirement for the August project is that it uses 800 yards. The rest of the day I was thinking about what I might do and a couple of times, I did grab my phone and go to Ravelry and look up a pattern that floated through my head.
I want to do a cardigan but I don’t thing trying to do it within a one month period would be good for my first cardigan.
We got home and I spent at least an hour on Ravelry and decided to make the Cabernet Sauvignon shawl.
Next decision was which yarn to use. Any yarn that I thought might work got added to my cart.
Actually the two teals are for something I’m making for Nicole and I wasn’t sure which one to use. The top brown is for another project. The other possibilities were for the Camp Loopy project.
After another hour, the yarn choices were narrowed down to the last three. Any guesses as to which one I chose? And, why do you think I chose that one? All three of them are kinda boring, aren’t they? You can see which teal I chose for Nicole’s project but that won’t get done til after the Camp Loopy project is done. 800 yards is a heck of a lot for me to do in one month. I can do it . . can’t I? 🙂

I love that shawl! I don’t think your yarn choices are boring at all. I like each of them. I’m going to guess you chose Brown Sugar.
Of course you can get it done in a month! You might not get much sleep but you will have a fabulous shawl.

Not sure on the one you would choose, but I love the Fern
I’m going to try the Dreambird when you start it. Just hope I’m as good at picking out the yarn as you are.

I’ll guess the Camel…it has some silk in it! And I have no doubt you can do it. You’re a human knitting machine. 🙂

I think you picked the fern green yarn but that camel silk would be nice also. Might have to look closer at that shawl pattern. Looks lovely.
Hugs!!!!

I am bad at guessing so I am not going to go there! I decided to make River Walk by Romi Hill in 2 shades of pink for my project 3. I have a test knit sweater coming up, so I am not sure I will finish project 3, but I felt like I needed to try.

I have to guess the green..but then you already knew I have LIME GREEN on the brain! rotlf!!
Katie says
You can do it! I’m going to guess you picked Fern as a nod to all the green you have in Texas from the rain. Brown Sugar is what I would have picked from the three.
Susan says
I’m going with the camel. Great camouflage color for west Texas. =) Any of them will be great in that lovely pattern. You’ll do it.

Is this a trick question? LOL I see caper sock in that cart and I know how much you love that but did you just throw that in to throw me off? Love the shawl pattern – that was one I had been contemplating too.. It’s bad to put into Ravelry 800 yards and have it bring up all those patterns — so many I wouldn’t have seen otherwise have been added to my library for possible future projects.

I would have guessed that out of all that yarn, you would choose Sweet Lime, but I see that it didn’t make your final cut.
that looks like a very dramatic shawl to me, and it seemed to call for a yarn with a real knockout punch. Sorry, but I’m not getting that ‘out-for-the-count’ feeling from the fern green yarn.
Marion Morgan says
Cascade, not sure why but it is a nice soft brown, looks like fall
AngieG9 says
Why not get them all Judy? Personally, I’m a green person, but I also love bright, orangy colors, especially for fall. But your choices are usually more in the soft browns, so that is probably your choice. But really, why not just get ’em all? You can never have too much yarn or too much fabric. And you will sail thru those 800 yards in no time.
Lynn says
I like the fern, but I am guessing you went for the camel. The reason I decided that- it goes with browns, greens or black
Karen says
I’m going to guess Brown Sugar. That is the most interesting of the browns to me. I think you picked a great pattern, I haven’t seen that before.
Linda Steller says
I’m thinking Brown Sugar too – mostly because I can kind of feel fall coming, even though it’s hotter’n Hades out there. I do love the green, though!

I think I am going to do the Bermuda Scarf: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bermuda-scarf Still not sure yet. I don’t think I can knit that much in one month.

I just bought my yarn for the Bermuda Shawl: https://www.theloopyewe.com/shop/p/B3D54572-Shepherd-Sport-Amys-Vintage-Office-Knitty

Love the shawl. I made the cabernet cowl. I think it was my Loopy 2nd quarter challenge. I have added the shawl to my to do list.
