Who knew it was Cow Appreciation Day yesterday at Chick-fil-A? Apparently everyone except us! Nicole, Addie and I went to run a couple of errands yesterday. Nicole wanted to go by the mall . . mainly she just wanted to get out of the house and now she believes me when I tell her there is no place to shop in this town! She wanted to go to T J Maxx in Abilene but I believe Addie has had about all the long trips she can handle for a while and I hated to subject her to two hours in the car seat going to Abilene and two hours in the car seat coming home so we just hung around here.
The plan was to eat at Chick-fil-A and when we walked in, the place was packed! This guy greeted us!
Addie was touching him and at least she wasn’t afraid of him.
Folks were coming in dressed like cows. The funniest we saw were four young folks draped in black with white spots glued onto the black fabric.
I do believe we witnessed a four headed, eight legged cow!

Yeah, I was thinking about going in with a spotted t-shirt on but figured NAH, it’d be as crowded as 7-11 prob. was on free slurpy day. You got a sandwich if you were partially dressed as a cow and a full meal if you were all in (think that’s the way it went)!!

There really IS a holiday for everything!!

There are a lot of things I appreciate in life, but cows are not among them. Thirty years of chasing those critters up and down the road when they got out made me want to turn them all into hamburger. YUCK cows, YEA chickens!

My daughter and I cut out black spots from construction paper and taped them to our white clothing. She put a couple spots on her face and I made cow ears out of cardstock. Simple as that and we both had a full meal! I grew up on a farm and found that the cows are sweet creatures even if they get out and leave pies in the yard! Their nature is to graze, which means they move along as they eat. If a fence is down, they keep right on going. To them it a new pasture to feast upon! (Yes, I’ve rounded up my share of cows and I still like them.)
