Don’t get me wrong . . there are plenty of started sock projects but I’m wanting to make something different. I can’t start the second Camp Loopy project til July 1 so I could make some good progress on another project between now and then.
The two projects I’ve been wanting to make are:
Denise suggested Wingspan as a pre-cursor to Dreambird and she’s probably right (but please don’t tell her I said she was right!). Most of the projects done by others that I love involve those long color changing yarns and I just don’t have much of that in my stash.
Brickless is a new pattern on Ravelry and has already been queued over 1,000 times so, it could be used for the second Camp Loopy project but I think I’ll stick with Hitchhiker since I’ve wanted to make that for a long time. Both patterns are by Martina Behm and I love her designs.
These are the stash yarns I pulled . . I have no idea what they are. The green one that I might use for Wingspan is fingering weight and it’s 100 grams so it should work. I’m thinking it would be pretty. If I don’t like it, at least it was good practice, right?
The yarn I pulled for Brickless has orange and blue-ish purple. I think it would be pretty. No idea what it is but it should work fine.
I think I’ll start Wingspan and see how that goes. I definitely need to practice on making short rows before I tackle Dreambird.

Love the green, but then I love greeen. Then again, I love the brickless also, because of the orange. When I did my laundry last night I discovered 3 identical green tees and 2 identical orange tees, but in my defense, they were different sizes. Good luck on your new project.

You are such an enabler! I spent a good deal of time yesterday and today on Ravelry researching Dreambird. I would so love to give it a try, trying to resist, trying…..trying….
In any case, I have done short rows before, but my ‘research’ mentions that Dreambird uses German short rows. Do you know how that differs from conventional short rows??
Now I must return to Ravelry to research Brickyard, Wingspan and Hitchhiker.

That is just gorgeous, wish I could knit, but I can croquet and sew. Very nice pattern, and really like the colors.
