I wish I hadn’t given the picture to the guy doing the work but I think we’re all set and I’ll order the cabinets tomorrow that go in the dining room. The guy that’s doing the installation was here tonight and it looks like everything is going to work! He’s going to paint the ceilings in the hallway, the foyer, the kitchen, family/dining room, and the walls in those rooms. Vince and I have to decide on a color. I’ve already figured out that’s not going to be easy. I love the faux finish on the walls now but I think we’re going with plain paint . . just too much trouble to touch up the faux finish stuff and it’s more expensive to have that kind of painting done. We’re taking the easy and inexpensive route!
This was the original cabinet but we’ve now added an 18″ bookcase . . shelves at the top, cabinet at the bottom on the right and a 15″ pantry with slide-outs on the left side. And, I’m going with laminate for the countertop. I figure I can change it out 17 times for the same cost as granite. I’ll probably never change it but that gives you an idea in the cost difference. Plain and cheap . . that’s my new motto! 🙂
Once the painting is done, that means that only the master bedroom, master bath and guest room have not been repainted. Most people would probably have started with the master bedroom!

Probably more people will see your dining room than the Master Bedroom, so you done good starting with the kitchen and dining room. Now you can eat while doing the bedroom. It’s going to be fab when finished. I wish I had your energy Judy. Just reading about all you do wears me out. Everything looks great!

Mine are ordered too. Being delivered July 2. I went with Kitchcraft from HD. They are doing the installation. I can’t wait. I so need more storage. I didn’t need another surface to work on so my countertop will be the top of the maple silver drawer. Saved thousands on granite.

My 2 cents worth, I’d add a glass front abinet or two. To show case some of your pretty thing!

The cabinets are more for storing, and I need the storage space a whole lot more than I need space for displaying. I’ve never had glass door fronts and surely don’t want them in this dusty place.

Our rooms are always last 🙂 I have the same problem – only the master bedroom and sewing room have not been painted in this house. And today I started on the sewing room. One day I’ll get to mine, I’m sure.
