Hilary had contacted me a week or so ago and let me know that they were was a big distribution center and a planned day this past weekend for getting the things to the folks who needed them. She sent me these pictures Sunday afternoon.
I can’t find the email Hilary sent me so I’m hoping she will correct me if I’m wrong but I think she told me there were 169 folks who lost everything. She also told me that seeing the destruction was way more than she had expected – lots more homes destroyed that what she had gathered from watching the news.
My understanding is that the quilts went only to the folks who had lost everything.
Below are photos of a few of the recipients:
Again, I want to thank Hilary for collecting the quilts, photographing them and getting them where they needed to be. I want to thank Jo for quilting, binding and mailing 18 quilts (I think that’s the number) and thanks to all of you who sent quilts.
I have no report from the quilts that went to Oklahoma. I didn’t ask for pictures or a report and the folks who took them were going there to work so they probably never thought to take photos, and that’s fine. I’m thankful they were headed that direction and took them for me.

Aw, that’s great. I need to get some quilts finished up and ready for when bad things happen. I never have anything bordering on ready when the time comes. Unfortunately, we know that disasters happen from time to time, even though we pray they won’t.

I didn’t send one but you know I’m always busy making donation quilts — I was happy to see the first photo which looks like one of my Quick Strippies so maybe I contributed in a small way!
