Camp Loopy is about to commence (on June 1) and I’m very lucky . . despite Vince’s threat to withdraw me from Camp, he has not done so . . yet! I’ve kept a pretty low profile when it comes to knitting . . specifically those “boxes of fun”. It’s not easy to hide boxes when we don’t have trash pickup and the only way to get rid of them is for Vince to take them, along with the rest of the trash, to the landfill.
And it doesn’t help that (1) I have no willpower and (2) there’s been Wollmeise DK yarn added a couple of times recently.
I got this . . the three skeins of green to make Vodka Lemonade (a cardigan . . not a drink!). Have you ever known me to make a cardigan? NO! Have you known me to buy other yarn for cardigans? YES!
Today while trying to decide what pattern to use for my first Camp Loopy project, I came across this pattern.
It’s French Cancan and I love those big cables! This pattern won’t work for the first Camp Loopy project because it has to be lace weight or fingering weight yarn but you never know what the next projects might be. And, they had more Wollmeise DK and they had a perfect color for Nicole so I had to order that. The yardage required is so close to only needing one skein but it might need just a tad on a second skein so I bought two skeins, hoping it only takes one and I can make myself one too.
But that still doesn’t solve the problem of what to make for Camp Loopy’s first project which starts day after tomorrow. This is my yarn.
If I had known what I was going to make when I ordered my yarn, I probably wouldn’t have ordered this. I would have gone with something more solid. When I made my order, I was thinking I’d wimp out and make plain Jane socks but, unless I change my mind again tomorrow, I think I’m not making socks.
If I were starting today, and I’m not, I think I’d make this.
All my knitting friends (OK . . there’s only 2 of them) have made this. So, as of 2:35 p.m. on May 30, my mind is definitely made up to make this but as of 2:36, I may have changed my mind! 🙂
If you’re doing Camp Loopy, what are you making?

I am making CashSilk fern scarf in Sweet Georgia Cashsilk Yarn. It is laceweight, cashmere, silk blend and I bought a pink/purple colorway.

Let us know how French Cancan works — that cable is tempting me, too!

I’m making Kinta but yes you will like the 3S shawl. I finally just got mine blocked last week — just in time for the 80 degree weather. But I will definitely make another from that pattern – I like that the ends are longer like a stretched triangle – it wraps around the neck better to wear as a scarf that way.

I’m making Language of Roses with some Tosh Prairie. I haven’t completed a lace weight project yet.

Yes, you need the 3S Shawl. Not only does it work up fast and it is gorgeous! Win, win.

I am about to finish the can can shawl. I joined the Loopy Spring Giftables Club and received a skein of Wollmeise DO in a gorgeous blue-green color. I didn’t care for the pattern that came with the yarn. I found the French can can shawl pattern on Ravelry. It is beautiful.

I am making the Inifinity Scarf…since I am a slow knitter and this is my first Camp Loopy I found something simple..I hope…now to get these DJ blocks done before Saturday.

I’m going to be making the Simple Skyp Socks (modified to toe up) using Desert Vista Dye Works Viso self striping in Happy Birthday Cupcake colorway. My yarn is caked into 2 small cakes and my 2.25mm Signature circs are all ready to cast on!

I’d love to do Camp Loopy, but I’m lazy and have too many irons in the fire as it is. I might finish my socks by the time the weather gets cold again!

I am making the Zora socks in DragonFly Fibers Djinni sock, “Peach Melba”. I’m also doing Tour-de-sock, but only as a cheerleader.

3S has been on my short list for awhile. I love it!
Amy (Waunaknit) says
3S will go great with the yarn you have.
I’m making Magine. I can’t wait to cast on tomorrow. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve knit anything.

I’m making the 3S shawl for Camp Loopy. It’s a Christmas gift for a friend. I’m using Breathless by Shalimar Yarns in
the Sno Pea colorway. The yarn is gorgeous!
