Yesterday morning I went out to the garden for a bit and then I wanted to plant the melons and cantaloup in the front. I had picked a few tomatoes in the garden but my feet were muddy so I just left them on the back porch and went to work in the front.
When I came back to the house, I didn’t even notice my tomatoes were missing til I saw this:
Tomato skins! Miss Hattie was standing on the side of the driveway licking her lips and wondering if maybe there were a few more tomatoes she might could have.
I guess nothing is safe with that girl around.

Gotta love Miss Hattie! I’ve had a difficult morning, but that story about Miss Hattie’s antics made me laugh.

LOL – your stories about Miss Hattie are so entertaining. She’s like my cat Sadie, who I call my thieving magpie. She takes things from the sewing table or the counters (yes, she jumps up and it annoys me) and then she hides them in her little secret places. Fortunately, I’m on to her now and have found most of my missing things. She does like to steal the bag of dog treats, rip it open, and eat some of them. I have to make sure the bag is back in the cupboard at night!

oh my goodness! LOL, what will she think of next?
sounds like you’ve got an inquisitive chicken on your hands, Judy. For heaven’s sake DON’t show her the road in front of your house–there’s no telling what that chicken would do if she decided to cross the road.

I think I’m jealous of Miss Hattie. I would love to have a fresh from the garden tomato right now. Wish I had seen them first, if she was just going to get them anyway.

Love it! I didn’t even know chickens would eat something like tomatoes. I learn so much on your blog. =)
