Not only did Super Husband get the dishwasher installed but he also hung the line for my clotheseline! When he came in and told me it was done, I jumped up and said “Great! I’m going to hang out clothes!” The washer had just finished so out I went with my clothes and my cute little clothes pin bag.
I guess I could have pressed the bag before taking a picture. It’s been packed since Missouri.
In this Texas hot, dry wind, the clothes were almost dry before I got finished hanging them.
There were more clothes but I figured you really didn’t want to see everything! The wind blows so hard here that when the clothes came off the line, they looked like they’d been ironed . . not a single wrinkle in any of them. Wonder if I stood out in the wind for a few hours if the wind would do the same for me. 🙂
Things are shaping up around here . . a whole lot of stuff is getting done.

I am going to try the “standing in the wind” trick and see if my wrinkles disappear!
Lee says
I’ve always said I detest the winds, but if they remove wrinkles, I might be persuaded to change my mind! 😉

A clothesline I have. I live in the desert and the clothes dry in no time. Today the sheets were dry in 15 minutes – really.
Peggy says
That is such a nice scene. I love going to an Amish area on Mondays to see all the clothes hung out on the line.
Pat C in Washington says
I wish I could have a clothesline, but there’s no room in my tiny back yard and even if there were room I would just get the dust from the alley all over my clean clothes. Whine, whine, whine – that’s what I get for being a City Girl!

*sigh* Mine should have been up by now but we have an apprasial coming up in 4 weeks and Greg is afraid it will affect the apprasial value. So he keeps putting it off. I am thinking maybe I will just do it and see if anyone notices… maybe if we get the lower electric bill before he sees the lines he will be convinced it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
shirley bruner says
and why is there a ladder at your clothesline. surely you don’t need to climb the ladder to hang clothes????
Linda in NE says
If the wind could remove wrinkles Nebraskans would be wrinkle-free as much as it blows here. So far it hasn’t worked, but the wind hasn’t quit trying.
Dora Scheer says
Glad you were able to use the line–and absolutely love that clothespin bag!
It’s so nice to be able to begin taking the first clothes down as soon as you hang the last clothes up, isn’t it?
Susan says
You let me know how that wind-wrinkles thing works. If it does, I’m definitely coming for a visit in the fall! LOL

Hi don’t leave your basket on the ground with clothes, I did and brought the snakes into the house.
The snakes love the warmth of the clothes. Take hangers out with you and hang the clothes and bring them in that way.
Judy L. says
My basket usually sits on a plastic stool so I don’t have to reach down so far. I wasn’t expecting to be hanging clothes so soon and didn’t have my stool yesterday. I put more than hanging clothes in the line so using clothes hangers isn’t feasible – socks, dish towels, bath towels, etc.
Jane says
Oh, I do envy you the clothesline! I remember hanging out clothes in the summer when I was a kid. It’s so nice. Where we live now there are restrictions against them. How stupid!
Karen from Oz says
Sitting here giggling at the comments! Here in Australia we all have clotheslines so I just assumed everyone does. The wind is here too but coming into winter it’s rather cold. 🙂
My American geography is not good, but I hope you are all safe from tornadoes. We’ve seen them on the news here tonight, they look dreadful.

HI Judy, I’m wondering what kind of wire Vince used for the clothesline. I’ve had several kinds, some better than others. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
JudyL says
I will ask Vince what it’s called and will post it here.

Now I’m getting all sentimental about how good the sheets smell when you bring them in from the clothsline. I used to wear my sheets and quilts out washing them every other day just for that fresh, warm smell. Big sigh. I hate city living.
Diana says
Love the smell of the clothes being outside on a line.
Peg H says
Oh wow – I would LOVE to be able to hang stuff on a clothesline to dry! And the notion about standing in the wind …. I may give that a shot. LOL!
Hilary McDaniel says
I love the clothespin bag. Did you make it? If not, where did you find it. I’d love a pattern. That would be fun to make.
Marilyn says
I love having a clothesline but had to settle for one of those square ones that fit onto a pole. We get lots of wind out here and in the summer when it is warm, never ever have to iron a thing! Unfortunately, the wrinkles on me don’t disappear though. Glad we don’t have snakes here to crawl into my clothes basket or I’d never go outside again! lol
We’ve had forest fires so we are enjoying a deluge of rain today…that should help put out a lot of the hotspots.
Pam says
LOL If my husband got thing done all of a sudden like that, I’d be like “All right, what do you want????” Then again, we’ve been on an eternal remodel for YEARS….
Happy for you that you’ve gotten your dishwasher AND your clothesline!!
