For today’s instructions:
1. From background fabric, cut 6 – 3-1/2” strips. (You’re going to need a bit more but check your scraps and see if you have any before cutting the 7th strip.) Cut the 6 strips into 66 – 3-1/2” squares. You need 3 more 3-1/2” squares (for a total of 68). If you can get those from scraps, that works but if not, cut a 7th background strip.
2. From the dark gold (or whatever you’re using for your center in the star), cut 2 – 3-1/2” strips. Cut these into 17 – 3-1/2” squares.
3. Using the quarter square triangles and background squares, make 34 segments as shown below.
4. Using the quarter square triangles and dark gold (or center fabric), make 17 segments as shown below.
