First, I’m just about 100% sure that we’re going to end up with over 100 quilts to be distributed to the folks who were affected by the explosion/fire in West, Texas. You all are amazing. Thank you so much. I didn’t have a number in mind when I asked for you to start thinking about sending quilts but if someone had asked me how many I hoped to get, I would probably have been optimistic to hope for 50 quilts. I hope it’s obvious to the whole world that quilters are amazing, generous, caring, kind-hearted folks. Thank you all so much and please thank those in your quilting group and your church group and your mom and your mother-in-law . . everyone who had a part in this.
Second, let me apologize because I’ve totally screwed up the picture posting for the quilts. Last week we got new internet and it proved to be a mess. I could not download full pictures so even though I could see parts of the photos Hilary was sending me, I couldn’t save them on my computer. While I managed to upload enough photos to keep the blog going, some days having to do it from the library, uploading the quilt pictures was put on the back burner til we again got new internet yesterday. Because I use several cameras and several memory sticks, I’m pretty sure some of the quilts are not shown here so if you’ve sent some and they’re not shown, please email me and I’ll get it right.
I know there are three quilts here in town I need to get and my friend, Diana, is sending several to Hilary so those alone will put us over 100. I can’t say it enough . . THANK YOU!!

It’s been a major pull on my heart strings when I get notices I have another parcel waiting at the post. I have been blessed to witness such an outpouring of kindness. Thank you. Hilary

Judy, are you aware of any effort being made for the people in Granbury who lost their homes in the tornado earlier this week? I believe I heard that Granbuy had many Habitat for Humanity houses, which leads me to conclude that it is a poor town….I know that you are not setting up Quilt Distribution Central, but if you have any information I’m sure I’m not the only quiltmaker who would like to help.
