The Camp Loopy package arrived today and even with Vince home, I was able to get to the mail box and get it without him ever noticing that a “Box of Fun” had been very cleverly slipped into the house without him ever seeing it. I’m good! 🙂
There’s the Camp Loopy bag, the yarn (Three Irish Girls Adorn Sock in the Storm Brew color) and my Camp Loopy pin . . all part of the Camp Loopy goodies. A few more items may have been included in the box!
It’s so worth it to spend an extra small amount (well, maybe sometimes it’s a bit more than a small amount) to get free shipping! Why spend $6 on shipping?
We cannot start knitting on the Camp Loopy project til June 1 so until then, I have a few projects to finish up.
This is the hat that goes with the cowl. Good grief! I started the cowl on April 1 and finished it on April 9 and probably started the hat on April 9 and am still not finished with it!
Then there’s the Cream and Sugar Cowl.
This is the third one I started. The first one was for me. The second one was for Nicole.
And lastly, and probably not going to happen, I’d like to get my pooling socks finished.
For those of you doing Camp Loopy, do you have projects you’re trying to finish before June 1?

For the uninitiated, what is camp loopy?

Go to LoopyEve.com and read about it. It’s the summer “camp” challenge. This is my first year doing it. And my yarn arrived today. Along w/ a few patterns! I promptly went back on line and ordered some more yarn!
I’m making socks. Boring, I know. But I had extensive neck surgery last week and don’t need anything too complicated.

Strange how there is extra yarn in there, do like the green and purple one, what will you make with it?

I have completed four pairs of socks for the pooling challenge, just waiting to post the photos. I am working on the hat to match the cowl using the same pattern you used. My “Package of Fun” has not arrived yet from the Loopy Ewe. 🙁 And I am now learning to use my Accuquilt cutter.

My package is here – the Camp Bag is bigger than I thought it would be — cool! Do you think I should strap it on as a backpack to wear to work??? LOL Need to get my stranded scarf finished – it only needs about 4 or 5 more rows but it got tossed aside.

So what did you decide to knit for your CL project?
Linda says
Love the yarn you have pictured

My Camp Loopy package shipped today! Which mountain are you climbing? I have a brioche hat that I really want to finish before the end of May. I also have a pair of mittens that would be nice to finish but probably won’t.

I am cracking up and kinda wishing I was a knitter right now to play along with the Camp Loopy thing. I do hope the hubster doesn’t read your blog, because then you would be busted!

Melissa…
Do you crochet? You can also crochet a project. I am doing a shawl with fingering weight/sock yarn. Have crocheted since I was a very small girl, but never used this light yarn…new adventure for me. Join us if you can!

OMG, the quilt you have the items displayed on is like one Imade about 30 years ago, and eventually gave my daughter for a wedding gift. Mine was in blues, since we are KY Wildcat fans, and her wedding colors were KY blue.

I am trying to finish the “Burning Rings of Fire” socks. I don’t normally knit with anything below a size 2 and these are 1.5’s. It’s taking FOREVER to knit these socks on smaller needles. But I LOVE the pattern! The three poofy rings around the ankles are so much fun! I’ve just started the 2nd sock and I’ve been knitting them over a month now.
Mel Meister says
I can’t do the pattern I originally picked out for Camp Loopy, so I guess I’ll do another pair of socks. I wanted to do a simple cable pattern but am having a hard time finding one. There is a pattern called “Easy Going” that I may try.

I’m participating in Mad May, going for the most FOs contest. I’m up to nine projects done and am trying to finish fifteen. Then on to Camp!
Mel Meister says
Anyone doing Tour de Socks?
Amy @ Heritage Homemaker says
I didn’t see the Camp Loopy bags until I had already placed my order….oh well, guess I need to order some more yarn…and bag!
I am excited about the shawl I chose to do in crochet for Camp Loopy! Ready to get going 🙂
Amy (Waunaknit) says
I finished my MadMay project and now I’m in limbo. I want to knit something but don’t want to start something that I can’t finish by June 1.
