There are quite a few cones of Astra 3/2 cotton yarn in my “weaving yarn” box. I am not familiar with it and didn’t find a lot of information about it on the internet. I decided the best thing to do was just weave with it and see what I think. I’ll get some better pictures of these projects once I cut them apart but I’m pretty happy with the results. I used black and gray Astra 3/2 for the warp.
The scarf is long . . I haven’t measured it. I did 3.5″ black, 1.5″ of gray, 2″ black, 1.5″ gray and then repeated those rows.
I wanted to see how that purple sock yarn I almost used for the weft would look so I did a few rows of that after finishing the scarf. This will come out . . and the space there will be part of the fringe for the scarf.
I think the purple kinda gets lost in the black but I love the look of the sock yarn with the Astra for the weft.
Then I just wove a little section so I can throw it in the washer and dryer and see what happens.
I would love to make some tea towels with this yarn if it holds up ok to washing/drying.
My edges are getting better and I’m pretty good with that hemstitch! And most important — I’m having so much fun with the weaving.

The scarf is gorgeous.
You and Denise are making me look at those looms! I need to stop that, I don’t have time for another hobby. 🙂
