Back to Square One Mystery, Clue #5

This month’s clue is very similar to the April clue:

Clue #5, Step 1:

This is the block we will be making for the pieced border, which is Border #2.  The blocks will be 4″ finished or 4-1/2″ unfinished.

Fabric 3 – Cut 20 – 2-1/2″ squares.
Fabric 4 – Cut 20 – 3-1/2″ squares.  Cut these on the diagonal twice so you get 4 triangles from each square or a total of 80 triangles.
Fabric 1 – Cut 40 – 2-7/8″ squares.  cut these on the diagonal once so you get 2 triangles from each square or a total of 80 triangles.

Sew the triangles to the square using the same methods as used in Clue #4.

Clue #5, Step 2:

Sew two strips together, each with 9 of the blocks, beginning and ending with the block just completed.

Clue #5, Step 3:

Sew two strips together, each with 11 of the blocks, beginning and ending with the blocks from Clue #4.

If you’re all caught up through April, please share your photo or a link to your blog post showing your progress.  On Sunday, I will draw for the winner . . who will receive a Stash Pack from Vicki Welsh’s Etsy Shop.  By the way, I heard from one of the quilters who used Vicki’s fabrics for the Road to Round Rock top and she absolutely loved the fabric.  When you need (or want) hand dyed fabric, please remember Vicki . . who sponsors this Mystery.
