Houdi is probably the cutest chicken we’ve ever had. I just love his little face. To me, his face looks kinda like a duck.
He (or she) is getting the long feathers on his legs so he’s beginning to definitely look like a Silky, which is all he could be because the mom and dad (Louise and Thelma) are both Silkies. Thelma is a bigger version of Louise and I’m sure there are some anatomical differences but they look almost exactly alike.
I hope Houdi and the other baby are both girls. If I had to guess though, I’d say Houdi is a rooster and Gracie is a girl. From the last two that hatched, I think one is a hen and one is a rooster. Sally and Smokey.
They’ve been living in this plastic tub ever since Houdi spent the day escaping and Judy spent the day chasing him around the chicken yard. They’re soon going to have a new home but that’s another blog post.

He is adorable! Your brood has no idea that they’re the luckiest flock around! Though tending chickens is a lot of work, you and Vince seem to enjoy every task it takes to properly tend to the needs (and wants) of each bird.
