When getting veggies from the garden, I never know what I’m going to find. What’s worse . . what about the things I don’t find?
Vince was home for lunch today and I was sitting at the table shelling peas and I squealed at wiggly little green worm in the bowl.
Do you see him back there?
I got him out and he was hurrying to the safety of the pea shells. I hate to tell him but those shells are getting thrown out to the chickens and I’m sure he made a nice little snack for one of them.
I’ll be paying close attention to all the peas I shell in the future . . just to be sure there are no matching worms that I miss. He is the exact same color as those peas. I guess there’s a good reason for that . . he’s probably had nothing to eat his entire life but my peas!

That looks like an inchworm. Poor thing…. Wrong place at the wrong time! Extra protein for a chicken.

I immediately thought of the old joke that what is worse than finding a green worm in your veggies is finding half a worm there! I too have found green worms and like you, do not eat them!

Bout like I squealed last year when I found a walking stick on my tomatoes .. Hubby still laughs at me ..

Got one in a salad once at a restaurant. Fortunately, they are pretty harmless. Maybe they have lots of protein? =)

I usually find them on my petunias where the suck the life out of the plant, they are really hard to see.
