Speck . . he has a hard life.
Yesterday he decided to go to the sewing room with me, which is something he doesn’t usually want to do. When I opened the door and let the sun shine in through the storm door, he was one happy old fella! He loves to snooze in the sun.
I tossed his big old pillow in front of the door and he hopped right on there and didn’t even care that he didn’t have a sheet or a quilt to get under.
He must’ve realized his head wasn’t in the sun so he positioned himself to at least get his head in the sun.
But, his head was hanging off so he re-positioned himself and then his back end was almost hanging off! Poor little guy. He’s just a tad too long! 🙂
There we go! The perfect position! Head is in the sun. Head is on the pillow. Back end is on the pillow. Ahhhh . . sleeping like a baby lazy, old dachshund!
He really is such a good dog . . so long as he isn’t left alone in the sewing room. He’ll be 13 years old soon so we’re thankful for every day that he’s happy and feeling well.

Aww Judy, I LOVE these pictures of Speck…..reminds me of my Tuffy……he loves to snooze in the sun too. He has two pillows of his own, that he lays on in my lap when we are riding…anywhere….he will be 12 on the 25th and after the scare in CO, we too are so thankful for every happy, healthy day that he has! He is running around like teenager!!

So … Speck was snoozing? =) I know how he feels. I used to take a nap every Sunday afternoon in the sunshine that came in my bedroom window. No such window now, and the sun doesn’t shine as much here anyway. Thanks for a post that made me smile.

What a cutie! We call the sun the “Solar Death Ray” around here, because when it shines in the living room window onto the rug, I generally have two very immobile cats and one passed out dog lying in the light. Some days, I’m tempted to get down there and nap with them!

Dogs are just kids with four legs, spoilt and well loved. They are just as happy when we return from a quick trip acrooss the yard as when we are gone all day.
