This may seem a little out of order but today we’re going to work on the pieced border. This is the block. It is 4-1/2″ unfinished or 4″ finished. We need to make 72 blocks total but some have the bottom strip reversed.

Make 34 with the bottom going this way:
Fabric 3 – Cut 4 – 2-1/2″ strips.
Fabric 5 – Cut 4 – 2-1/2″ strips.
NOTE: You may need a 5th strip but see if you have some leftover pieces you can use before cutting the 5th strip.
Sew these together into 4 strip sets. Cut those into 72 – 2-1/2″ segments.
Fabric 3 – Cut 4 – 4-1/2″ strips. Cut these into 72 – 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ rectangles and sew to the above pieces to complete the blocks.
Same note as before: You may need a 5th strip but see if you have some leftovers you can use before cutting the 5th strip.
Next instructions will be posted April 11.
