Today we being working on Road to Round Rock. Happy National Quilting Day!
Step 1:
Using Fabrics 2 and Fabric 5, from each, cut 3 – 7″ strips. Cut these into 12 – 7″ squares. Using these squares, create 24 half square triangles. These should measure 6-1/2″ unfinished.
Step 2:
From Fabrics 1 and 6, cut 2 – 3-1/2″ strips. Sew these together to make 1-1/2 strip sets. To make a half of a strip set, cut one of the strips from each fabric in half lengthwise so that you have strips that are 3-1/2″ wide by half the width of the fabric . . about 20″.
Cut those strips into 16 – 3-1/2″ segments.
From Fabric 6, cut 3 – 3-1/2″ strips. Using those, as well as the half strip of Fabric 6 from the above step, cut 16 – 3-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ segments. Sew those to the pieces made in the above step. Make 16.
Step 3:
Sew the pieces you have made together to make 6 blocks. You will have 12 extra half square triangles and 4 extra sections from Step 2.

Maybe I am even newer than I thought – I am not quite getting step 2 ?….I understand cutting three strips that are each 3 1/2″ wide; then sew them together (lengthwise). After that, I am pretty much lost….can you help?

Happy Quilting Day to you too, also Happy St. Patricks Day. Beautiful quilt!

Judy, I am a little mixed up on step 2. I cut Fabric 1 and 6 into 3 -3 1/2 inch strips. Then I am a little lost after that…

Thank you for allowing me into your group. I have been quilting for 50 years, but find I need new inspiration now. These tops are beautiful and I will enjoy making them this summer and quilting them this winter. It will be like being in a quilting guild again after so many years alone.
